“Great value for money”

Excellent location, near to everything. Clean warm and comfortable rooms, dated decor but that adds to the character of this hotel. Staff were friendly. No complaints whatsoever about this hotel. The only thing I missed was a hairdryer in the room which would have been nice. But the room had a bath which was a treat! Especially after running 10k.

We stayed 5 nights at Mercantile and it was great. Friendly staff, tidy rooms right in the city center. The hotel is situated in the Temple bar area with lots of bars, restaurants around. It's within walking distance of many of the main attractions in Dublin. I surely recommend.

i was just at a 40th birthday party last night in the mercantile on dame st dublin.we had a reserved section upstairs there was a dj on and played great up to date music for the first half of the night and then 80's and 90's for the latter which always gets people on their feet.the food platters were lovely and the nightclub atmosphere was great for a party .a great night all around .

Room Tip: i didnt stay the night so dont know about the rooms .

I stayed here with my husband in feburary and had a lovely stay. I was a little unsure about the booking due to the bad reviews about the noise. We arrived sunday and stayed till wednesday and we were not bothered by any noise what so ever. The bar down stairs was lovely and had a nice atmosphere. The location was spot on, very central. The room was better than I expected for the price. I would stay there again.

Simply put, GREAT LOCATION, good restaurants, 3 bars, small but economic room (our bed was not very comfortable, but this could just have been ours), very noisy. This hotel is only a few short blocks from Trinity College and right in the heart of the Temple Bar district. Beware that the noise level from the bars surrounding you will continue loudly until at least 4:30-4:45AM. After this time you will have a small window of reprieve of approximately 15-30 minutes of blessed silence...before the trash collectors come around and you're jolted awake by the sound of glass and cans tumbling into metal bins. After 5AM it's standard traffic as per the norm for a busy city, which is as good and quite as it gets. Overall I don't think I would stay again, just because when I want to go to sleep I want to actually get some sleep not lie awake for hours. But if you're looking for a bargain, you got it.

Room Tip: We stayed on the side facing Trinity Bar, don't know if staying on the other side would make a n...

Be very very careful when booking this hotel ,3 bars and a restaurant and a very noisy street
makes for a very unpleasant stay ..

As i type theres a full blown jazz band playing at the top of its lungs, they are accompanied by cackling of voices on the street.

Hang on ,drunk sopranos have now joined in..
After travelling for 4/5 hours this is not what i expected..

Theres a bath and a very weak shower in the bath ,not at all suitable for those that have mobility issues
or a fear of the people across the way looking in ...

Chipped and broken furniture ,tv button had to be pushed at least 20 times for it to be turned on( old irish trick)

Room Tip: Avoid at all cost, unless your on a booze up weekend !!!
