“Ye oldest pub in Ireland”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

This place is GREAT! It has three floors and a great atmosphere, whether in a group or solo. There's live music on the first level and the staff are super nice and very accommodating throughout. If you like Irish folk music and storytelling there's a great event held nightly on the third floor with dinner, Irish folk music and storytelling. But, you've got to make a reservation first. “One of the best meals I had in Ireland”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

The Brazen Head Pub, touted as the oldest pub in Ireland, has both indoor and outdoor seating. Due to the heat wave in Ireland, anything indoors was stifling so we opted to sit out in the lovely courtyard with colorful flowers overflowing from windows above (unfortunately, also the smoking area for those who hate it as much as I do). The only negative I can say is how horribly long it took to get anyone to acknowledge our existence after we were seated. The pub was quite busy, and as this was our first meal in Ireland, we weren't sure if poor service was just "how things are" so we patiently waited and were eventually approached by a server who turned out be very warm and helpful. I ordered the Beef and Guinness Stew, which was incredibly delicious. It became the meal against which all others were measured. I had many tasty meals in Ireland but ultimately, this was the best.

“Great food. Friendly welcome.”

Varied menu including traditional Irish dishes. Friendly staff helping to keep our two year old amused. Will visit again next time in Dublin.

“Comfortable pub with character!”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

Because it is the oldest pub around, it has a lot of character and we find it quite inviting. Have been here twice before and keep coming back for the mussels, fish cakes and Guinness. During our last visit, we arrived mid afternoon, so it was not crowded. We were able to sit, relax, and enjoy our food and drinks. The staff was friendly and attentive. All in all, we had a pleasant experience. The Brazen Head will always be on our list of favorite places in Dublin.

“Nice outdoor seating area”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

We visited this pub during a nice sunny (rare) day in Dublin. We sat in their outdoor garden as you enter in from the street. We stopped in just to see the place and have a beer and share some wings. Great conversations from people sitting around us and the beers and wings were good too. Would definitely go back on our next trip.
