“A treat for all”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014

The storyteller Phil was welcoming, knowledgable and good fun. Phil hosted the evening of fairies and folklore linking the stories from the past to the culture of today. The food was wonderful, hearty Irish dishes, excellent service, served hot and on time. A good selection of wines available ( not included in the cost but highly recommended with the meal) Great live music in between courses. The dining room was right at the top of the building and so became quite hot but the staff were aware of this and made every effort to keep everyone comfortable by using fans and opening/closing the balcony doors as needed. Jugs of water were available and topped up regularly throughout the evening on every table. Phils stories were interesting, humorous and engaging. Phil took e mail addresses and contacted anyone who wanted copies of the stories and sent a book reading list for all who were interested. A very enjoyable evening.

“Oldest Pub in Dublin- a must!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

We loved the Brazen Head. We walked in very wet from walking in the rain (without rain gear) and enjoyed our pint Guinness at a table int he bar area. We loved soaking inthe History and meeting some locals with our kids.

“This is the essence of an Irish pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

Not far from the more commercialized and, perhaps, over-hyped Temple Bar area, this gem is purported to be the oldest in Ireland. True or not, you should stop in for a pint or a meal, with music at night. We made in on our first day in Dublin and will return. It's everything you imagine in an old Irish pub. The photos and furnishings are worth a viewing. Of course there 's plenty of beer choices, and the mid-afternoon lunch we had, a panini for each of us, was very good. Add it to your list!

“The quintessential Irish pub!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

From the second you walk in this is a traditional Irish pub. We had drinks and food. The beer was of course delicious. Had a great pale ale. All the food we ordered was amazing. The Guinness and beef stew was outstanding. Even their homemade soups were delicious. We actually went back for dinner after having lunch first day in Dublin. We went with our two daughters and parents and everybody was very friendly to us.
