Having had an ancestor study here I was delighted to do the outside tour which is worth the money for those history enthusiasts.

The college is under construction around the library that has the book of Kells. They are improving the walking areas for wheelchair access.

The students who give the tour are very knowledgable and give the tour with a good sense of humor. Learned a lot about the history and the grounds that I didn't know before. Only a Euro more than to go see just the book of kells, you can't beat that especially when the tour is good. The tour is only like 45min and because you already have a ticket for the book of Kells - as it's included on the tour- you go through the line a little bit faster. BUT, use the restroom before your tour! I had to get out of line for book of kells to find one and it was impossible as everything was closed for a bank holiday. Took me longer to find a bathroom than to take the tour.

It is brill how you are in the city centre and no traffic noise. Trinity College is full of history. The book of Kells is a must to see and the library is a very impressive view. They have a sicence gallery, photo exhibition. There is so much to see in such a lovely setting.

The student areas were very dirty and the grounds were covered in construction sites. It might be a better experience when there's not quite so much construction.
