Owner description: A magnificent cathedral that houses Jonathan Swift's remains (he wrote Gulliver's Travels). It is the only remaining cathedral in Ireland with a daily sung services. A small entrance fee is charged for tourists and all money raised goes back to paying for the upkeep of the building.

“A must see- if you care about the past!”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Many items of historical significance happened here involving religion, music, and literary figures. This is an extremely beautiful and majestic building that began so long ago. Don't miss this!

“Very beautiful. ”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

Was just as impressive as St Patricks in NYC. Just on a smaller scale. Glad I don't have to sit on those seats for church.

“Worth the Time”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Such a beautiful cathedral with rich history. There is a small shop inside to purchase gifts to take home, at reasonable prices. There is a small entrance fee that they require cash to pay. Take 30 minutes or so to enjoy your visit.

“Very touristy”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

I was impressed with the beauty withing the cathedral, but the touristy shop located within the self-guided tour area was a sad thing to see. It was difficult to enjoy the tour as people shopped for souvenirs. It would have felt better had the shopping been outside this glorious space.

“Rich with Ireland's History.”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

I was so fascinated with the history of the church here. The tours guides were very well trained and very pleasant to follow around the cathedral. The church is right next to a park where you can sit and relax after or before on beautiful days. They also had a little gift shop inside where you were able to buy little Irish gifts. Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels, is buried underneath the church and you can see his gravestone inside. If you go, you will hear many stories of Ireland's history and stand where many powerful people have stood before you. I would put Saint Patrick's Cathedral on my tour list while traveling around Dublin.
