My sister, her husband and mine stopped by this pub a couple of months ago, when they were visiting Dublin. We particularly wanted to take in some live Irish music, without staying out late to do so. We were fortunate, at 2.30 on a Sunday afternoon, to find TWO different acts, following each other with just 20 minutes or so in between. We had vocals and guitar, followed by vocals, guitar, accordion and flute. Toes were tapping, and a couple with a small girl were delighted, as were the rest of us, when she spontaneously started dancing to the music.
Sure, the drinks are probably a bit more than the average, but you're paying partly for the atmosphere in a pub like this. We were lucky to arrive early enough to get a table with bar stools. Others were standing waiting to pounce when, after a good hour and a half to two hours, we finally headed out. Would warmly recommend for live music at an early hour.
