In a very good place to start your tour in Dublin. Everything is accessible on foot. Guys at reception very helpful and they gave us any information we asked..,, even a hair dryer because there were not any inside the room. The room is small with a very funny floor that is a bit curved....!!!! No elevator and we stayed at the 4th floor.

This hotel was not worth the high price (114 euros/night). Our room smelled like mold and gas. There were ants in one corner of the room and the beds were like sleeping on cardboard.

Pros:
Location to public transport
Nice staff

Cons:
Smelled
Small
Price
Slimy breakfast

Bottom line: I wouldn't stay here again nor would I recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: My friend and I stayed in room 102, ground level, faced back ally...didn't seem safe.

Luckily we didn't spend a lot of time in the room as it was our last stop before our very early flight home. The room was old and upkeep was not great (example: hole in the ceiling plugged up by tissue paper). The shower did not drain properly so while showering you were in stood in a puddle. The walls are very thin, could hear our neighbours snoring in the night and there was no soap in the toilet. The mattresses could do with being replaced as the dipped in the middle indicating broken springs. The only forgiving qualities are the location, which was very useful as we were leaving and the bus stops are right outside your door, and the reception staff were helpful

My son and I were in Dublin for two days and this suited our needs perfectly. We liked the location and were impressed by the staff. The bus headquarters were right down the street and many stopped at the front door. Our room on the top floor was spacious and we had a nice view of the city. In addition this fit nicely into our budget. We hope to go back and would definetly stay there again.

A decent, unpretentious bed and breakfast place with friendly staff and within a reasonable walk to most of the sites of Dublin. Reasonably priced - especially as price includes a full breakfast. The bathroom/toilet was small but manageable. However there was no shelf room for your toiletries. A word of warning for anyone with young children - the hot water in the bathroom sink was VERY (scalding) hot.

The main drawback was that the walls are really thin and you can hear even normal volume talking and the sound of the shower from rooms either side - hence my comment about earplugs!

The room we stayed in was very clean and warm it didn't have a hair dryer but if you ask in reception they will loan you one while you stay, breakfast was lovely and hot and plentiful and the service was good. The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. The guesthouse itself is central close to many pups and restaurants and within walking distance to the city Centre it's also close to the airport bus stop. We would highly recommend a stay at the Charles Stewart it's convenient and good value for money, we would definitely stay there again.
