“Great fun, exercise and lots of sweat!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

It was the fastest 4 hours we've ever spent. My 11-year old son and I wanted to experience some of the truly Irish (Gaelic) sports and we were not disappointed. It was so interesting and refreshing to learn about some new sports so different from the mundane North America sports of hockey, baseball, football and basketball. The staff at the Na Fianna GAA Club was so friendly and greeted us warmly. We started by watching a quick video of the three games that we'd be learning: hurling, Gaelic football and handball. We then proceeded to the outdoors to get our basic training of hurling followed by a game amongst the group that we were in. After a 15-20 minute water break, we followed the same process for Gaelic football then again for handball. While we had tons of fun we also worked and sweat a LOT so this activity is not for those looking for a leisurely walk in the park. Wear good sports shows and proper sports attire and if you go in the summer as we did, bring a towel and extra change of clothes. And drink lots of water. I would recommend this activity to tourists who wanna try something different and unique to Ireland.

Great day with friendly and knowledge hosts. In a short time got to grips with 3 traditional sports with varying degrees of success! No pressure...pure fun and all levels of fitness would be able to take part and enjoy. We were a group of 2 adults and a 10 year old.A refreshing change from hectic city to get out and enjoy fresh air and craic whilst learning something new! Go!!

“Fun and worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

Our family, 2 adults and 2 kids, thoroughly enjoyed learning hurling, handball and Irish football from a friendly and engaged staff. It was very well organized and a bit of competitive fun without being too much so. We are not a super athletic family but all of us had a great time. Highly recommend as a family event, particularly for kids 8 or 9 and up.

Because of our experience, we ended up attending a hurling match in Dublin at Croke Park which was also amazing.

“Best Parent Kid Experience Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

Visiting Dublin with my boys 7 and 9 and looking for culturally interactive events so we tried Experience Gaelic Games (EGG) since we knew nothing about Gaelic football or Hurling. What a wonderful afternoon - Cormac was a terrific "coach" and his obvious joy in sharing Gaelic culture (and teaching us a few words) made the day even more special. We bought tickets online, walked over from the Skylon Hotel, and when we arrived we had coffee and watched some clips of both Gaelic football and Hurling matches. Then we picked up our equipment and headed out to the field. The amount of physical exertion is totally up to you and they don't push you to do anything you don't want to do - it's appropriate for all ages and levels of fitness. Although we were winded and sweaty, we were all laughing hard at ourselves and having a great time like a bunch of kids. The best part was learning something new with the boys and hearing my 9 year old say "that was good mom - you did it".

“So much fun, accessible to anyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

Cormac was an outstanding coach. My wife and I had a great time learning hurling and Gaelic football. We were able to pick it up quickly and we want to figure out how to continue playing when we get back to the states. So much fun!
