Had a fantastic lunch here on my own recently and must say that the food (I had the tasting menu), atmosphere and service were all first class. The food was inventive and delicious and I can't wait to return. Thank you!

“Great food! High prices!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

This is a 5 star restaurant and the food was excellent, however, when you're a tourist and need a quick meal, do not eat here! It took 2 hours and the total US dollars for 3 people was $175!! If you have time to enjoy 5 courses, it is a wonderful place to go.

“Amazing”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We would definately recommend this restaurant. My husband and I read a review written in the inflight magazine whilst fying to Dublin which commented about the use of their own grown vegetables from their own garden , plus no use of any starchy sauces.. We found it after a lot of searching in the city and eventually came across it by chance in St Stephens Green .From the outside, the building is impressive to start with , with enormous Ivy growing the full hieght of the victorian building. The bar and down stairs under cover garden are lovely and tranquil. The atmosphere is very personel and you instantly relax. Once seated in the resturatnt itself which has very few tables well spaced apart offering privacy you begin to realise how special this place is. The staff are so knowledgeable, they know the dishes as well as the chef does and are extremely accomodating. We found the choice on the menu not too much, but just enough, however, the descriptons completely underestimate the food that you recieve. I dont think you can go wrong in this resturant as I ordered baked cherry tomatoes with goats cheese which turned out to be, in the main, a salad. I don't eat salad, ever, and have never done so, but cleared the plate. The flavours were astounding, the presentation of the foood unbelievable and as it was placed in front of you,the waiter took you through the ingedients on your plate one by one describing excactly what you were about to eat and how it had been prepared. There were also additional extra platers served inbetween the courses, not ordered, but gifts, so as to speak, from the chef. Our first was a truffle, chicken if I remember correcty, again utterly astounding. What this chef does with food and flavours is truly amazing. Our main courses soon followed, once again, food that made your mouth just yearn for more. The service was first class. Each and every time my wife left the table for the ladies , the waiter would straighten her chair, align her knife and fork and refold her napkin and position in her place ready for her return. The wine was kept away from the table and replenished promptly when needed. Following the main course was another of the chefs offerings, Popcorn on caramalised pineapple with fresh cream. Amazing. We ordered our desserts and I chose the cheese and biscuits. The next minute a wheeled cabinet containing some 15 cheeses was brought infront of me for me to make my selecion. Once again, the waiter proceeded to explain all the different cheese options, clearly indicating where each cheese had originated from. Once our desserts had been chosen we ordered some martini expresso's, again made to exemplary standards. The table could have, should we have wished to, been ours for the full evening and at no time did we fell pressured that we needed to leave. Don't get me wrong, it is not cheap, we paid 285 euros for our meal, nearly double of our normal top limit, but seriously, it was worth every last penny!!! The atmosphere, the staff, and OMG the food!!! You have to try it as it is truly unbelievable that the flavours experienced can be achieved!! Without a shadow of a doubt, the best resturant we have ever visited.

“lovely relaxing evening”
Reviewed 27 April 2014 via mobile

Had the tasting menu - one with meat and one without. Wild turbot and fois gras were stunning. Very fresh and simply cooked with panache. Tomato and mozarella more disappointing. But overall an excellent meal. Deserves its reputation.

“A Surprise Tasting Menu”
Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

One of our favorite dining experiences is a Chef's choice tasting menu, when you have no idea what will be coming out from the kitchen. This establishment offers such a surprise tasting menu and it did not disappoint. And of course, wine pairings to go with each course is icing on the cake. Though they didn't advertise one, the Sommelier said he could put one together for us. What a wonderful gastronomic adventure. Sea urchin, scotch eggs, foie gras, turbot, lamb, chocolate and sorbet. Each was unique in presentation and flavors - accompanied by the perfect wines. The staff was warm and friendly, the decor cozy and inviting. Of course it was not cheap, but in my opinion well worth it for that kind of quality and creativeness. And even the custom wine pairings, which could have come with a hefty price, was priced similar to others we have enjoyed.
