“Good budget accomodation.”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

Excellent location, less than a minute from O'Connell street and a 5 min walk to the Temple Bar area. A good budget hotel - paid around €40 per night per room for two of us, which was great value. The room was clean if a little dated, maid service every day, decent wi-fi and 24Hr reception.(although a couple of the reception staff barely acknowledge you.)

Didn't sample the breakfasts, but the department store Boyers almost directly opposite the hotel does cooked breakfasts for €4.95 inc tea/coffee and toast.

Would easily recommend this as a good base to stay, but remember, it's a budget hotel, not a 3/4 star, and it does the job very well.

Dear Karl,

Thank you very much for sharing your stay on Trip Advisor.

We are delighted to see you had a pleasant stay and you found your room clean and comfortable and of course the free wifi.

I do apologise for the shortfall in our customer service as this is one of our strengths which we pride ourselves on as we constantly receive positive feedback.

We very much appreciate your recommendation as we do offer fantastic value for our city centre location.

I will share your kind feedback with all the team.

We hope to see you again on your next visit to Dublin.

Kind Regards,
Patrick Carney,
General Manager.

Dublin City Inn is located pretty much in the center of Dublin, with the Spire (that marks the exact center of the city) a 5 minute walk down the street. This is great whenever you navigate through the city, you can always just look up and track toward the Spire in order to get back to your hotel easily. The price is extremely fair, with the room being just fine in terms of size and accommodations - the staff are also very very helpful and welcoming. We started our trip in Dublin, then left for 4 days to London, and we were allowed to leave all of our gifts we bought from the Guinness Factory at the front desk for when we returned to Dublin. Recommend this hotel.

Dublin City inn offers very reasonable rates. It is very clean, staff are all incredibly welcoming and helpful it iso in a good location to explore from and near to the tour bus stops. It suited us as we were out of the room from early until quite late, the rooms was small but very clean and bed was comfortable, for anybody wanting to spend longer in the rooms then it may not be quite so suitable. Our room looked out on to talbot street which wasn't a problem to us at all but light sleepers might prefer a room at the back of the hotel. This was our third short stay at the hotel and we would definitely go back again.

Stayed here twice because of the good location and price was fairly cheap. But the hotel rooms are dirty, when we arrived the bed was stained and we had to ask for it to be changed. We were also put Ina. Smoking room when we requested a non smoking one.. Not only did this room smell but so did the hall which the smoking rooms were located! Me and my friend were coughing because the room smelt so strongly of smoke! We requested a Room change and was eventually moved to a non smoking room. The staff are friendly and was an OK stay overall. When we return to Dublin in march we will be staying in a hostel located right in the centre of temple bar.. We decided it would be a LOT cheaper than this hotel and cleaner. So if there are any young people looking to have a cheap few nights in Dublin make sure you get a hostel rather than stay here. X

Dear Hayley,

Thank you for posting your review on Trip Advisor following your stay in April 20013. I am disappointed to see you were unhappy with some aspects of your stay. We are unable to guarantee non smoking rooms as it depends on availability at the time and we do accommodate all requests when it is possible.

I do apologise for the issues you encountered as all feedback is very important to us as it enables us to improve on the service we offer and i can assure you this is certainly not our standard as we recieve numerous feedback on the standard of our cleanliness.

I sincerely hope this will not deter you from returning to stay with as in the future we would love the opportunity to renew your faith in all of what we offer.

Kind Regards,
Patrick Carney,
General Manager.

Dear Katie,

Thank you for reviewing Dublin City Inn on Trip Advisor following your recent stay .It is a pleasure to see you enjoyed our ideal central location as with all city centre properties there will be some element of street noise which is out of our control. Delighted to see you found our Wifi good as we have recently upgraded our system and of course it is free of charge.

We do hope to see you again the next time you are in Dublin .

I liked this place. The location is amazing, you can walk to the Trinity College, Jameson Distillery, Merrion Square and Temple Bar, in no more than 20 minutes. The spire on O'Connell Street, the station Conollys and Henry Street are less than 5 minutes. It's also very close to the stop for many tours and a tourist office. The street is not as awful as many reviews says, even when it's not the best area is not so ugly either. I stayed in a single room with a big bed and a shower with good water pressure.I had no street view, but it's not something I care about. Most days they did a great room service, the only thing they forgot to clean was the water glasses in the bath and the kettle, which, by the way, was very rusty inside, and did not know how safe it was to drink tea from there. At night it is a little noisy 'cause you can hear the waterfall from your own room and other ones. However, the staff is very friendly, breakfast is not expensive and is not that bad, they have a vending machine and a great variety of information about tours. I hope to return soon to Ireland and have the opportunity to stay at Dublin City Inn. It was a good experience.
