We recently visited Dublin for a joint Hen/Stag weekend. We weren't able to get in the same hotel as the rest of the party so booked this hotel which happened to be on the same street. We were looking for something clean and cheap which proved quite difficult over the August Bank Holiday weekend. However, this hotel delivered. The room was tiny but it was clean and had a comfy bed. The breakfast was nice but we did have to ask for more items to be cooked as the buffet was looking pretty sparse at 30 mins before closing! It wasn't too much trouble though and the staff bought us out plenty of freshly cooked bacon and eggs. Perfect location for venturing into the city. In walking distance of Temple Bar. If you're looking for luxury accommodation then keep looking but if you are looking for cheap, clean and convenient then this is the place!

When we checked in we thought there must be some kind of mistake. The room was VERY small, no AC or fan in the room. Bathroom shower was so small all I could do was turn around in place to wash off. It was my opinion that this place is "rent by the hour" on the off season, yeah it's that bad. We asked for a different room the next day and were given a "double", more room yes, but the same run down condition. One of the windows would not shut completely, previous occupants had shoved handfuls of wadded up tissue in the gaps. Honestly I've had to stay in condemned army barracks that were in better condition. Use your lodging dollars somewhere that has an interest in keeping their facilities up to date and clean. The only reason it didn't get one star is because the roof didn't leak. Anyone who gives this place anything over two stars makes me question their validity.

Room Tip: Since the rooms have no AC the windows have to be open, Talbot side is loud, backside is a little more quiet but you still hear deliveries.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time in sharing your feedback. I do apologise for the issues you encountered during your stay, I can assure you this is not the normal standards we adhere to as pride ourselves on the services and standards we provide to all of our guest.

Regarding your comnents on '' rent by the hour'' I can assure you we do not operate in this way as we have many guests who return on a regular basis and enjoy the hospitality all the team provide.

I am delighted to hear you did not encountered a leak in the room.

Thank you for affording me the opportunity in addressing your feedback.

Kind Regards,
Patrick Carney,
General Manager.

Wonderful location and very helpful staff. The layout of the hotel is somewhat untraditional but the rooms were very nice and the beds comfortable (although the put two twins together to make a double and you wind up rolling into the center "crack"---a bit odd.

Stayed for 2 nights on the 3 rd floor facing Talbot St it was noisy at night but not too bad.
The location is fantastic close to everything .
The room and shower are small but sufficient.
My daughter and I felt very safe walking around day and night with wonderful cafe and pubs next to the hotel and a tesco across the road.
We booked a paddys tour bus trip and easily walked around the corner to the paddys office

We were abit worried about booking this hotel due to some of the reviews but i honestly think all of the bad ones are extremely exaggerated. This was the best hotel we have stayed at so far on our Europe trip. We asked for a room at the back so it was quiet. We got room 218. It was perfect. Didnt hear literally anything at all. The staff were so nice and friendly they will go out of their way to do anything for you-book tours for you, offer travel advice, book taxis. The breakfast was awesome too. On a couple of the days we had tours booked early so couldnt make breakfast. Instead the staff had these awesome little travel packa ready for us to take on our tour with us so we didnt miss out on breakfast. I couldn't believe it. That would never happen in Sydney or anywhere else i have stayed. The rooms were large and very clean. The hotel is in the best location right in the middle of everything. There are amazing restaurants right next door. Would definitely recommend this hotel .
