“Fabulous stay”

We stayed at the cottage in the liberties section surrounded by churches. The cottage has two bedrooms. One for single, other for couple. Would be tight for more than 3 people. Met by Sean echo spent quality time discussing how to work all the appliances and heat. Then gave us an overview of walking tours, sights, train and buses, local area attractions. He was a super nice man. Knew I was looking up Irish heritage so left me two genealogy books to use. We walked to everywhere we wanted to go in under 20 minutes. The only long walk was to the Heuston station for our train to Waterford. Taxi back was 10 euro. About the cottage. Felt safe there. Two couches in living room., TV, electric fireplace. Kitchen had everything we needed for stay, even a combo washer and dryer. Linens on bed were high quality and pillows fine. You don,t need to bring those clunky electrical converters as Sean has several already for you. Don't bother with a tour book of Ireland as there were many here to use. Only problem we had was getting to the cottage by taxi. None of them could find. Would suggest Sean would send by e-mail a little map which you can hand to the taxi operator which would help them. Wifi was great. Connection the entire time and fast.

“Fantastic stay”
Reviewed 14 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

I stayed in Moffatt cottage for 4 nights, bought as a Christmas present for my mum. The cottage did not disappoint. My mum and I had a fantastic timing staying here and felt it was a welcome and cosy place to stay despite being in the city centre of Dublin. It was lovely and quiet on an evening, but just a 5-10 minute walk into the heart of Dublin. Sean, the owner was fantastic with communication prior to our stay and this continued with lots of help and advice when we met him on arrival. All our needs were catered for and small gestures were put in place to make us feel very welcome. We will be hoping to stay here again in the future.

“Lovely host and cozy home”

I stayed at this home with my husband and 2 year old. The host was supurb and told us of popular areas and restaurants that would be suitable with children, and gave great overall recommendations on how to see the city. The only reason I rated it a 4 is that it's a small walk to get to some of the touristy areas, but I guess not everything can be smack in the middle of the city! Really cool piece of the original Medieval city wall is at the end of the road.

“Great property - in the middle of it all but still cozy and quiet”

Dublin is a zoo. Hustle and bustle and traffic and people and historic sights galore....don't get me wrong, we loved it...but at the end of each day it was blissful to retreat to Moffat Cottage. Nestled on the edge of the 'Liberties' neighbourhood...just steps from Christchurch it is in a super quiet cul-de-sac in a quiet area - like stepping back in time to a different world.
As others have mentioned - small, cozy and comfortable. Sean was fantastic setting us up and answering questions and giving tips...could have listened to him for hours as he really knows and loves the city. Everything was conveniently close, from buses to grocery stores and restaurants/pubs.
Would absolutely stay here again!!

previously visited in July 2012 and thought I might be back as we were not disappointed by this property.. This cottage is in the perfect location. We took the 747 airport bus and Sean was kind enough to meet us. He left us a nice cake and milk in the fridge. Everything was available to us but if you are a tub soaker then you are out of luck. There is a Dunnes grocery about 10 minutes away and Molloys liquor store about 2 minutes away. We walked everywhere with no need for public transportation. My niece joined us and commented that this place would be perfect for her parents 30th wedding anniversary.
My brother and family visited in July for their 25th anniversary and had nothing but good things to say about it. Although my brother is over 6 feet and did find the shower a bit small I think the average person would find it acceptable. This time around could not enjoy my morning coffee outside in the garden as it rained everyday! but not all day.
all the major sites are easily walkable including Christchurch, St Patricks, Grafton Street, Temple bar, Guinness storehouse,Trinity College St Stephens Green and even the meeting point for our day trips to both Blarney Castle and Belfast. Thanks again Sean. You are the perfect host and it was nice catching up. Just may see you again! Catherine, Erin and Meagan

“Charming small, comfortable cottage rental in central Dublin with an exceptional owner”

I rented the Moffatt Cottage through the TripAdvisor posting based on the high reviews. I admit I was a bit skeptical, I have rented apartments and houses in Europe before using agencies but this was the first time I rented on my own using TA. But I trusted you folks and was not disappointed.

The cottage is located on a small cul-de-sac near Christ Church very close to Temple Bar and bus stops - the HOHO tour bus has a stop a few minutes walk from the cottage.

The cottage is small and has two small bedrooms. I was traveling with my niece so it was just the two of us, the size of the cottage was perfect. The shower was always hot and washer-dryer was a plus and had a cooktop, oven and microwave along with a well stocked pantry. No dishwasher but that was no big deal. Oh and a small outdoor patio with plants!

Sean is a pleasure to talk to and very helpful. He met us at the cottage and spent a good hour going over the cottage, area sights, local restaurants and stores. Please take advantage of his knowledge - this house was his home.

“Perfect location”
Reviewed 8 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

If you are expecting all the modern conveniences this may not be for you. The cottage was kind of "quirky" and was definitely older. But I would stay here again any time and the quirkiness grew on me. Hands down the location was totally perfect! Exactly in the middle of all the attractions and we easily walked everywhere. It was nice having a fridge and a place to have breakfast. The neighborhood seemed very much like a place where retirees or young families live and it felt like we were part of Dublin in a way that you do not get in a hotel. It was a shame we didn't meet Sean but his wife was very nice and met us at the bus stop.
