What a wonderful surprise. We were not sure what to expect, but this certainly went over and above any we had. Beautiful hotel, they upgraded us to a king bed room at no extra charge, the staff went over and above their duties. They were more than happy to help us book our trip to Belfast, and answered any of our questions and helped with anything we requested.

Stayed at the best western skylon overnight for another sad occasion - family funeral. And there it was, a 1970s style building sat between old, retail type buildings and takeaways. But... Once inside, it was lovely, newly decorated, and certainly deserved more than 3 stars.
The corridors and carpets were spotless. We had a large family room, and though a non-smoking hotel, on arrival our room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke, in spite of opening the windows, we rang reception and asked for air freshener, but instead we were very promptly moved to an adjacent room which was perfect, and we were given all the time we needed to move at our leisure, excellent customer care.
We later ate dinner in the bar, the restaurant was closed for redecoration, and the young man serving was amazing! Very fast and efficient, though he was working a large number of tables alone.
All in all, this hotel superseded our expectations as a very short notice booking and was excellent value for money.

We ate in both the bar and the restaurant and both were excellent. The staff we're very friendly and always eager to help. A special thanks to Deidre and all the staff for making making our stay so enjoyable! Will definitely be back. Jimmy and Catherine, Co. Fermanagh

Clean comfy room best bed evr in a hotel, busy road but quiet. Bar and music a bonus and Guinness good! Easy 20ish minute walk to centre, lots of buses or flag a taxi down opposite. All in all a wonderful homely hotel with bigger than average beds and rooms. Staff very attentive an nothing was too much trouble all down with genuine care. Will definitely be back

We were very impressed with our experience at Dublin Skylon Hotel. From the time we were welcomed by reception, everyone we encountered did their very best to ensure that we enjoyed our stay and that our needs met. Our bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable. Food was very good, served quickly by efficient and cheerful staff. We hope to visit again and will certainly use this hotel again.

We used the Best Western Skylon as our home base in Dublin during our recent visit to Ireland. Our daughter is studying this semester in Limerick, so we came to spend Spring Break with her. She checked in the night before our arrival so that the next morning, we had a room already. It was nice to be able to freshen up after the long flight before heading out to explore the city. The Skylon was a great home base. While it isn't in City Centre, it was just a short bus ride into town. The bus stop is a block or two away, and it was really cheap. We would ride to and from city centre, then explore from there. There were restaurants and a Spar close by for dining and other necessities, which was nice as well. The hotel itself was perfect for our needs. The room was larger than I expected, with 2 double beds, one on either side of the room. It gave the illusion of more space so with two almost adult children, we never felt cramped. Beds were comfy, it was quiet, and the internet service was fine-not perfect, but good enough for teenagers. We never ate breakfast or used the restaurant at night, so we can't speak to the food, but my hubby and I had a drink at the bar, and it seemed there were a lot of locals there. One night there was live music in the lobby, but we were so tired from a tour that we didn't stay to listen. All in all, we would stay again if in Dublin. Staff was friendly and helpful, hotel lobby was beautiful, and everything was very clean.

Came in for afternoon tea and we were disappointed at what it was for 14 euro. The bread was horrible for the ham and cheese sandwiches. It said on the menu that cake and brack was part of it but wasn't included when we got it. The Weiss beers we ordered came with ice too which was a bit unorthodox. Unless we came in on a bad day, I would certainly expect better for my money.
