We were checked in by a lovely receptionist who changed our room to one with more beds( double and two singles as opposed to a double and one single which had been the only option available on booking.com) at no extra cost. Also arranged for a travel cot. The room was lovely. Quiet, comfortable. Did not avail of breakfast.

We stayed for three nights, and the hotel itself was ok if a bit disorganised. The room quality ranges and it depends if you get a renovated room or one that looks like it was from the mid 90's. Reasonable value for money.

However, the food here was rubbish. We ordered dinner on our second night and found the overall experience below average. The worst dish was a Thai green chicken curry which tasted like it was heated up from a packet and full of flour and sugar to create a gluggy mess. On telling the waiter that the dish was not the best, he laughed it off and said they were 'catering for Irish tastes', and that he was just there to spin a yarn and take our money. Nice of him. The Thai place across the road catered for the 'Irish taste', but had great food - go there instead 'Chilli Banana'.

I stayed here twice last year. The public areas, bar and executive rooms were all pleasant. I thought it was a little overpriced for what it is but, it was okay. However, on both occasions I was disturbed by housekeeping knocking on my door, waking me, long before checkout in the morning. On both occasions I made this known to Reception who couldn't have been less interested. I found that extremely disappointing and it made me decide not to return again.

When we selected this hotel it was mostly due to the convenient location between the airport and the city, plus it gave more value for money than hotels in the city centre. Transport to the centre and back is no problem, as many buses run by, although the schedules are not completely reliable. But remember that the Drumcondra Road is extremely busy - and noisy, so get a room not facing the street if you are sensitive to noise. Check-in was fast and efficient. The hotel style is more of the 'old fashioned', being carpeted all over with 'grand' interior and atmosphere. The rooms don't have an awful lot of space, but contains the essentials, except a mini bar. The TV set (small) and the free wifi functioned satisfactory. There was no air condition. When we figured out how to open the windows (we though at first they were unable to open) we got the fresh air we needed. Bathroom facilities were OK with the common problem of flooding the floor when having a shower (the glass divider to the bathtub did not function). The breakfast needs mentioning. Our pre-order of the room did not include breakfast, so we had to buy vouchers at 10 euro per person, which is cheap compared to the great selection offered. Apart from the buffet with cereals, fruit etc., we had to place our orders with the waiter. Whether you were choosing full Irish breakfast or continental breakfast you got much more food than you could eat. The staff was very friendly, so even if it is the 'old fashion way' of serving breakfast (not all on a buffet), we enjoyed it. When checking out, which was fast, we also asked for a taxi to the airport (could have taken the bus), but were made aware of a shuttle service the hotel operated. We bought the 5 euro tickets and sat down waiting. When the shuttle arrived, it was full from collecting people at other hotels, so we were offered a taxi free of charge. That was very good service! All in all a nice stay, so we may come back.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back or on the side are quieter

Good location, just 5 minutes by car from Dublin Port and on the bus route to the city centre. The down fall was the road noise which was continuous through most of the night. The only peace you got was when you shut the window and on a warm night this was not an option. The rooms are in need of AC. The 'very small bath towels' and hand towels where changed every day. You could not fault the comfortable bed or the cleanliness of the room. The biggest disappointment was that a wet shower room suitable for a permanent wheelchair user was not available for my disabled husband as this is permanently booked out to some organisation. They offered us a luxury room that consisted of two king beds in a large room with a very tiny bathroom which was not suitable for a wheelchair user. The door could not be closed if the wheelchair was in the bathroom. They said all the bathrooms were identical. Sorry we had to scrape the door and the toilet to enable the bathroom to be used.
The restaurant needs a new chef. The food was luke warm and lacked flavour. The prawn cocktail I had consisted of dirty lettuce, a few prawns and a scant teaspoon of sauce. Breakfast was certainly much better. The staff were all friendly and obliging. The room was not expensive by Dublin standards.

Room Tip: Not sure that there is a 'good room' when the window is open due to the noise in the front a...

Nice clean hotel, good sized room on the 5th floor, however, no lift from 4th up. Not a problem for ourselves. Towels changed daily, safe, kettle and hairdrier all provided.
Ideal location, 20 mins from airport using public bus number 16 or 41, 10 mins to city centre. Ate in restaurant first night, food passable, not brilliant. Staff seemed to be overworked and very busy. Didn't see entertainment and non provided on the Saturday night.
Simple check in bags left at reception on arrival and room ready by evening.
All in all a very pleasant stay, nice friendly and helpful staff, would definitely use the hotel on our next visit.
Word of warning, nothing to do with the hotel but if you think Scandinavia is dear Dublin City Centre is more expensive.

Room Tip: Avoid 5th floor if you struggle up to flights of stairs, otherwise only 4 rooms up there and nice an...

We stayed here from the 10th-14th July 2014 we paid around £280 which was good value compared to other hotels. The hotel is around a 20 minute walk to the city centre which is nice. There is a bus stop directly outside which is great (buses only accept coins). There is also a dominos pizza across the road which is great for any late night snacking!
The food at the hotel was ok, nothing special.
The room was clean and tidy, bathroom quite small, bed very big not the comfiest and the tv was very small in comparison to the room. We had one slight problem on a few occassions we had a strong smell of sewerage in the bedroom coming from the bathroom we rang reception and she flushed the toilet a few times and brought us a nearly empty can of air freshener so wasn't really very helpful. Also one complaint was that we had to ask for extra tea making facilities they were not automatically refilled.
The hotel manager was very friendly and chatty
Overall good hotel :)
