“GREAT Location”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Very convenient location to take the bus from Dublin airport. 30 min ride and the bus stop driver even announces Buswells Hotel! Very kind and conscientious staff at every turn, from the front desk, to the wait staff, to the porter on duty.
Wish the room (triple) was quieter - we were on street side. Likely due to jet lag we had trouble sleeping with the cars going up and down the street all night.

Room Tip: As for a quiet room - ask how to use the showers. Take the 700 bus from the airport. Bus stop with...

Buswell's is a perfect balance between being easy walking distance to all of the places you'd want to go in Dublin without being smack in the noisiest areas of Temple Bar. Room was lovely with a very comfortable bed, plenty of windows that opened for fresh air, nice service, water provided, and great bathroom. I recommend booking with breakfast included - very nice breakfast.

Room Tip: Choose the breakfast included option for the best value.

I stayed here on July 29th, 2014, with my husband for one night. The hotel is perfectly located in the city centre, within walking distance of the Hop On/Hop Off Bus. All in all, I'd give the hotel a 4 out of 5 stars. We stayed in Room 214, facing the street outside. While the street can have typical street noise, nothing that a set of ear plugs didn't fix. We slept the entire night through, even with the windows open. The only complaint I have is that the hot water took an extraordinarily long time to warm up. Not through the cause of the hotel, just the cause and affect of a Georgian hotel and the building's layout. There's nothing that would deter me from recommending this hotel. The staff, especially Johnny (who makes an amazing pot of tea!) were all extremely helpful and made our stay welcoming!!

NOTE TO AMERICANS: The shower faucet handles are on the opposite side than they are in the U.S. As are the toilet handles. This hotel does not have air conditioning, but that is common in Dublin (only 5 hotels in the entire city have air conditioning due to the moderate climate).

Buswell's Hotel is quaint, elegant and located in a perfect spot to explore Dublin's best attractions: Grafton Street, Trinity College, Stephen's Green, Temple Bar area, lots of pubs, and the government buildings. We walked everywhere but the buses are also conveniently close by. The hotel bar is a very nice place to end your day with a glass of Guinness or other beverage. The staff in the bar, restaurant and front desk were all courteous and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, even on the street side. We spent three nights here and would definitely stay again.

The hotel is in perfect walking distance to Grafton St and museums. The hop on and off bus stops right across the street. The food in the bar is pretty good. The breakfast each morning was a typical good Irish meal. The staff at the front desk was amazing. Delta lost our luggage. Delta was very nonresponsive to multiple messages we had left to try to get the status of delivery. The front desk staff got on the phone several times to Delta to help us. Needless to say, we still did not get out bags until 6 days later. In that time, Buswells offered to wash our clothes. We stayed two nights on our arrival to Dublin and one night at the end. We had a middle room on arrival that was very quiet. The last night, we had a room in the back above a street. Lots of street traffic. I recommend requesting a middle room. would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms in center away from streets are quieter

The Buswells building was reportedly first built in the 1820's, and has been nicely remodeled and redecorated. My room was very large by European standards with nice furnishings. The staff was courteous and helpful. Restaurant food was acceptable. Breakfast was far too expensive for the neighborhood.
The location is perfect for visits to the museums, downtown pedestrian area shopping and restaurants. Several bus stops are only 2 minutes away.

This was all together a great place to stay. It had easily accessible parking and was within easy walking distance from everything we wanted to see. The staff was all very helpful and accommodating. It was a nice quiet, very clean hotel. I was very pleased with my stay and would recommend it easily to anyone visiting Dublin.
