“Great Location & a bit run down”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

The price was right and the location was excellent so we decided to take a chance - also being seasoned travelers my wife and I have stayed in some pretty dodgy places. Didn't really regret staying there but would seek out other alternatives if we ever are in Dublin again... bring ear plugs!

We stayed here for one night and it was terrible! The room was on the 3rd floor 304, it was so small we couldn't open the toilet for properly. It was very tired and in need of decorating, the radiator in the toilet was rusted and peeling from what I presume was splashed urine. It was so hot in there we could not sleep unless the window was open but this meant we were kept awake by the coming and going from local nightclubs, party goers and the moon's of taxis beeping at each other. We have learnt a lesson and will always check reviews but unless you are going to the night club that closed after 4am I would give this place a wide berth.

Stayed for one night . Room was on the upper floor. The room was clean but extremely hot and the sash window only opened a short bit so difficult to sleep as it was a hot evening. Found the staff very abrupt and unfriendly on arrival and not much better on departure. The hotel is quite close to the centre. The cost for 1 night was over £100 with no breakfast and felt for the facilities offered and the standard of the room it was overpriced. The hotel could be made nice with a bit of a refurb and some friendlier staff.

We booked to stay here for one night, and then read the reviews and were seriously concerned, however it was pretty good.

The plus points:
Newly refurbished
Nice decor
Very comfortable bed
Very clean
Clean very good bathroom
Proper black-out curtains (rare in standard hotels), particularly on bright sunny summer mornings
Tea & Coffee in the room
Nice new fluffly towels
Lots of information in the room for restaurants etc
Good rate for the night at 72 Euro for a Double

The not so good points (although we still enjoyed our stay):
There was music from a local bar evident when we checked in at 6pm
When we came back at about 11.30pm after dinner, the noise was still evident but not intrusive.
However at about 2.30am the noise became excessive and woke us up, it went off completely at about 3am so we still managed to get a good sleep.
Reception staff efficient but a bit cold and not very cheerful.
The nearest car park they recommend is about 15 minutes walk away if you are carrying bags. They did mention they had their own car park which was full, though not sure where this is, as the view from our room overlooked a parking area which was empty.

Overall would definitely use again, and certainly hugely better than a lot of the previous reviews.

Room Tip: Try and find a room away from the noise. Our room was on the 2nd floor at the back. I think the Hote...

Booked in to this charming hotel for a surprise trip for my girlfriend. Very reasonable cost and on arrival room was ideal. Very clean and well furnished. Ideal location, as a 2 minute walk from the airport shuttle bus drop off. Would visit here again.
