“I loved my stay!”
Reviewed 29 October 2012

I really enjoyed my 2 night stay at the Gresham hotel.

I arrived a couple of hours before check-in and they explained that they had been really busy the night before and didn't have any rooms ready but that the concierge would take care of my luggage. Then the receptionist saw that I was from Canada and asked me if I had travelled that day and I said I'd been travelling for 24 hours! Immediately one of the other receptionists got on the phone to housekeeping and they located me an upgraded room that was ready. The first receptionist then promptly got back onto housekeeping and got them to 'VIP' the room.

I checked in 2 hours early and enjoyed the extras that the receptionist had arranged for me, like a bathrobe, slippers, chocolates and sparkling water. I was so extremely tired and so very grateful for their thoughtfulness and was able to get into the room and get some rest so that I could then enjoy the rest of the day in Dublin.

I don't think you could wish for a more conveniently located hotel for everything in Dublin. I loved being able to pop out for shopping, etc.

The hotel and room was great and I loved dining in the Bistro.

After checking out I found a minor error with my bill which they immediately rectified when I e-mailled.

I enjoyed the Gresham and thanks particularly receptionists for your thoughtfulness!!

Room Tip: Upgrade and back of hotel was very quiet.

Three days at the Dublin Gresham from where we managed a game of golf, a night at the theatre and a day's shopping and sightseeing was as good as it gets.
The food was great, the room was clean and bright, the bed and linen had quality and choice, the staff were efficient and friendly and the central location of the hotel made travelling easy.
Despite the recession the Hotel offered good value for money without cutting corners.
On our next trip to Ireland we shall return to the Gresham for another helping of the good life.

We were recently in Dublin and stayed two nights at the Gresham Hotel. It is a very beautiful place to stay. There are some beautiful chandeliers in the lobby!! We had a decent room located on the first floor. It was clean and quiet! The traditional Irish breakfast was interesting to this Southern girl! I even tried Black Pudding, which I did not like at all, YUCK!! There were many other choices for breakfast so don't miss it! The location was excellent. We could walk to The Temple Bar area at night and catch the tour bus right out in front of the hotel. We were also really close to the shopping area. This was a great choice of accommodations!

Only stayed here for one night in Dublin, so can only really comment on a brief stay. We were thrilled with the hotel, smart, clean and in a very central location. The only small thing point (not really a complaint) would be the room layout and decor in our room was a little bit dated - not dirty or unclean - just not as modern as some refurbished hotels... Although when you see the guest who have stayed here previously (including prime ministers and presidents), you know it can't be bad.

Just home after spending a few days staying in the Gresham Hotel, Dublin. We had a excellent time there. Just sitting in the lobby in the evening and watching the world pass by. The staff could not do enough for us and we have decided to come to Dublin at least every two months and stay in the Gresham and re-charge the batteries.

Well worth a visit

Stayed here at the last minute. It is a grand hotel, styled beautifully and stately. The bar downstairs is nice and the rooms are nice. The beds were a bit small (not the queens we were advertised), but the bathroom is just about as big as the actual room itself. The walls are a bit thin, but the views and the location cant be beat. We talked into Temple Bar through shopping and lively pubs and restaurants. Highly recommend!

Stayed here as Team Cohen decamped during their touring dates in Dublin, which added to the fun vibe in lobby and elsewhere.
The welcome was friendly, the rooms were reasonable, the service in Toddy's was variable on two occasions, the afternoon tea very average and the gentle old concierges gave the hotel a realistic historic feel.
The best thing to recommend it however is the location which really cannot be beaten.
Breakfast room some what chaotic and disheveled at times, but appreciated the gluten free bread for toasting when requested.
The suites are quite lovely, whereas standard rooms, could use some updates.

Room Tip: stay on the 5th floor in the newer part of the hotel and away from the elevators- you wont have a go...
