Nothing but praise for my weekend in the Gresham. Returning to Dublin from New York on one of the busiest weekends of the year I was amazed by the freindly and very helpful staff. Everybody went out of their way to make it a great weekend. The room service was second to none. The bar and restaurant service was excellent.
The concierge was very helpful and I was totally taken aback by the value for money I got. A really great experience in a classic hotel. I'll be visiting Dublin again early next year with my family and I wouldn't dream of booking anywhere else.

My wife and I were in Dublin for the start of an exciting three week vacation. There were many positive reviews on The Gresham, which helped us decide to make this our starting point. Here is a list of things that made The Gresham a wonderful place to stay:

1. We were scheduled to stay at the Gresham for three nights. On our second day in Dublin we ran into some unexpected medical issues which forced us to stay three nights longer than expected. The staff at the Gresham extended our reservations, let us keep the same room so we wouldn’t have to move luggage, and gave us a great rate.

2. My wife was at the hotel by herself for 3 nights and the staff was amazing to her. Every day the concierge and breakfast hostess would ask her how she was doing, offering any help they could, and generally being a very caring group of people. Even a staff member who dropped off room service showed her incredible kindness. Maybe this is something that is expected but my wife felt so cared for that it made the whole ordeal a little more bearable.

3. This is more general but the location is great. It’s close to shopping, restaurants, and pubs. You can easily walk to Temple Bar, Trinity College, and Grafton Street.

4. There is a taxi stand right across the street, so hailing a cab is no problem.

5. The breakfast was satisfactory. There are many egg options, including omelets you order from the server (on busy mornings it can take about 15 min. to get the omelet). The porridge, which was something new to my wife, was delicious. She is now a huge fan.

6. Pillows! My wife loves lots of pillows and there were 6 in this one room.

Overall The Gresham was a fantastic place to stay. The bathrooms can get a bit musty and humid, all you need to do is run the fan and open one of the bedroom windows, clears right up.
I highly recommend staying here, it may not be the newest hotel but after the week we had, it certainly is the most caring hotel we have ever been to. The staff is stellar and go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of.

Great location - a genuine Dublin landmark. We were 'up from the country' for the Leonard Cohen Concert in the O2. Great staff - especially the waiter in the foyer who gave us all sorts of advice - from getting to the concert venue (he told us that a taxi to the O2 was best and the Luas for the return journey) to finding Toddy's Brasserie (he told us that the sign just to our left that said 'Toddy's' was a big clue). The food was excellent and the service was very good - except for the desserts. they took an age to get to us, and when we got them they were a great disappointment. In fairness, they did not appear on the bill, so no harm done.
Rumour had it that Mr Cohen was also staying there that night, but the staff stayed schtum and we never did find out.

The central location on Upper O'Connell Street makes it an ideal hotel to explore Dublin City, the
staff were so friendly professional and courteous it was a pleasure to meet them everyday. The food was superb and very affordable plus the staff made the dining experience something special. The room was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean with one of the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in The only problem about leaving was having to do so. Overall
I would rate this experience as 500% out 100% and can not wait to revisit fantastic facility.

The Gresham Hotel has a wonderful location - close to restaurants, shopping and other attractions. Some of the other reviews state that they had a comfortable bed, unfortunately, that was not the case for us. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pillows were even worse. Our room was not facing the street, but was still noisy at night. The room was a little dated but was very clean, so that was not an issue. Although the staff were very helpful and the location was great, the sleep quality was poor.

I stayed at the Gresham this week for the first time in a couple of years. The check-in, and staff generally, were very pleasant and welcoming and answered any questions on the surroundings accurately and willingly. I thought the last time I was there it was looking dated but the room I had was great in one of the wings, large and a nice comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and the service very good. Location is great as other reviews highlight. I feel their rates are very competitive for a classic hotel like this.

Room Tip: Just ask a few questions about what/where your room is. Rooms on O'Connell Street will be a litt...
