“Loved the gresham!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2008

A friend and I stayed at the Gresham for 1 night having come down from N Ireland for a night out. However on the journey there I fell and broke my wrist. We didnt know this at the time of arriving at the hotel and just asked for some ice for the swelling. The hotel staff were really friendly and attentive helped us with looking for a good restaurant( a great Chinese on Dame St) then on my return Pam, the night manager arranged for a doctor to call me due to the problems with my hand. The hand was really black and in a bad state due to the fall. I decided to go to hospital.
Nothing was too much trouble they called me a cab to A & E at the hospital, asked me to call them when I was ready to come back from hospital( I was there all night) and offerd us late check out so we could sleep if required.
The hotel room itself was reasonable but but it was the service and shared areas that made it so brilliant. I would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here for a "romantic" night away with my partner and was severely disappointed from the start. When booking i explained to the girl that i was working in a hotel myself and did they offer a hotelier rate, she said no but they would give me an upgrade on the room at check in, which they didnt and we were left with a tiny room at the back of the hotel that looked out over a lower concrete roof and 2 adjacent walls.we didnt stay in the hotel for dinner as the restaurant was closed...we had been told it would be open!at breakfast the next day we were not impressed, my partner compared it to food from a bad butlins holiday he'd had as a child.Staff seemed robotic and bored a lot of the time. apart from an english girl in the bar who was very nice.i definitley will not be returning.

We have just returned from a 9-day tour of Ireland. Our first two nights spent at the Gresham Hotel.
The Airport bus stops directly outside. We arrived on an early flight from the USA dropped off our bags and went exploring returning at 2 pm and our room was ready.
The location was excellent, right next to the Dublin spire and Cinema’s. Shops and main tourist attractions are a stones throw away, making this ideal, as it is close enough to walk to the bars, restaurants and must see landmarks.
We had a deluxe room and I would recommend upgrading. Our room was clean and very spacious, with high ceilings, and a grand feel we even had two chairs.
Our bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was especially large with a separate bath and shower, hair dryer and lovely toiletries. Although we were close to the busy O’Conner Street, we did not hear any traffic noise either in the day or night. Breakfast was excellent with a huge selection of hot & cold food. Coffee, Tea, and Orange juice were offered to us as soon as we sat down and warm toast arrived soon after. The restaurant and cutlery was squeaky clean. We found the staff friendly and obliging. The option of parking our hire car was an enormous help.
We would definitely stay in the Gresham again.

The Grasham Hotel is in no way a 4* Star hotel. It maybe a 3* Star hotel with small rooms, but no way can be classed as a 4* Star. The walk to the centre of Dublin is around 15mins, and the road that the hotel is on, O'Connell Street, is run down and has nothing of note on it, from a tourists point of view. I would stay in the area around St Stephens green or at least south of the river, as this is central. The gresham hotel is NOT centrally located, nor is it worth £122 per night (the current rate)....get a deal, or stay elsewhere.

The standard of this Hotel is very poor.A four star hotel with the standards of a bed and breakfast.

The hotel was very reluctant to deal with any problems having taken my money.

Look elsewhere before you book this hotel.

Its a well located hotel with all the usual amenities.Very pleasant staff and spacious lounges.

Bedrooms are functional and ours overlooked a dingey lightwell, but very comfortable.

Yes the upper floors are a bit of faded elegance but its all clean and well maimtained. Would stay there again

I paid a return visit to the Gresham for the "All Ireland" weekend.

My view has not changed since my previous stay and review a few months earlier. Staff were very attentive, as always, despite being inundated pre- and post- match and the atmosphere was unbelievable!

This is a great hotel in a great location and I would have no hesitation in staying again in the future.
