i stayed last weekend in the hotel as i was going to a concert. i love this hotel its location is ideal located right beside the luas and across from the bus station. cannot fault this hotel at all. food is delicious, hotel is clean all staff are friendly and helpful. i needed a bar stool in my room as i was getting my make up done for a concert and they went out of their way to get me a bar stool as they didnt have one on the premises. its my second time visiting this hotel and i most definitely will be returning through out the year.

My boyfriend and I visited Dublin for the first time with some friends in the first week of March. The friends we were with recommend the hotel from their previous visit. Upon arrival the staff were polite and attentive and we were seen to our room quickly. We were told about breakfast and what time it would be served (@ €9 a day). We all paid upfront for our breakfast for the two days we were staying. Delicious, fresh food that you could help yourself to. Ranging from a full irish to fruit, cereals and fruit juices.
The first night we were there we decided to eat in the hotels restaurant. There was a set menu which we went for which was €22 for 3 courses and a glass of house wine. There were other menus to choose from. The food was really good, fantastic value for money. The restaurant has an open kitchen which I like.
The room was clean and much bigger than I'd anticipated!
The hotel was in a good location, right opposite the bus station, 25 minutes from the airport and close to the local nightlife.
Dublin is a lovely city but it is expensive. I'd recommend eating and drinking in the hotel to save some money.
Would definitely return to the Beresford :)

First visit to Dublin. Arrived at 8.50 after early flight from Leeds Bradford and the hotel allowed is to leave our luggage with them and check in later. The hotel is situated right next to the Luas ( tram ) and the airport bus 747 stops across the road. Our room was on the 3rd floor and fairly close to the lift so we expected a potentially noisy night - not so. The room was fairly basic but large enough and very clean. TV and coffee/tea making facilities with biscuits is always welcome. We didn't stay in the hotel for breakfast ( 9 euros ) but opted to walk into the centre ( 15 minutes ) by the river. Overall we thought the hotel was good value ( 65 euros ) per night and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel - ours faced a courtyard at the back.

Beresford hotel is very much hit and miss. Booked this as a value option that is reasonably located in the city, we were on day tours most of the time and spent little time in the hotel.

As a whole the staff is friendly and helpful, it's a 5 min walk to o Connell and 10 min walk to temple bar. The 747 airlink also stops pretty much right outside and is the best bus to take from the airport for 10euro return and wifi on board. Luas, dart and bus aras station is also very close by. Basic Amenities are all there including a in room safe, toiletries and tea and coffee with good towels. The toilet paper is very cheap though.

The problem is the best and cheap hotels these days provides everything you need, nothing you don't in a modern environment and have everything working well. I think Beresford is just in need of a refurb and the cheaper rooms simply reflect this.

Here are issues:
Room smells a bit, stains on the ceiling, carpets very old, bathroom is good size but shower is old and just floods down, the floor creaks and there is poor noise isolation. I have been woken up every night by neighbours door slams, kids running down the hall or drunks yelling (guests, it'd Dublin after all), the TV is old (not much an issue but come on how cheap are small led TV's these days).

Most annoyingly the wifi only worked for 1 of the 3 nights and that is just poor these days and the front desk could do very little. This is the main reason I brought it down to 2 stars. When you say free wifi it has to work. No one can live without internet when travelling now, it's simple as that.

Beresford offers great location for a reasonable price, however it's not cheap enough to offset it's short comings.

Hint again take the 747 airlink and not the air coach for the easiest way to get to the hotel. It's costs the same and is nearly as fast.

we stayed here for 2 nights in march on a weekend break, we found that the standard rooms were very basic and not really representative of the images shown on the website. The staff were all friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good, however if you wish to return to the hotel bar after being out for the evening it closes quite early , we were offered drinks in the lobby but felt quite rushed to finish them by the one member of staff that was on shift.
The standard rooms are quite dated and the beds were very hard, one of the beds was directly next to the radiator which meant it was very hot in the room when trying to sleep at night and we had no way of turning the heating down.
we had a guest information manual which detailed check out times etc, most of the information within this was incorrect even their check out times!! and it also stated free wifi however there was no passcode in the manual to access it.
The hotel itself is situated in a good place and is quite central so it was only a short walk to most areas of dublin city centre including temple bar, o connell street and grafton street. it was also in front of the bus station and the stop for the luas so local transport links were on your doorstep and there is also a taxi rank directly opposite the hotel.
