“All you could want for a few days in Dublin.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2013

We had 2 rooms at the Townhouse for 2 nights Nov 12&13. We received a very friendly welcome and were given some good info. regarding things to do and where to go. The rooms were not enormous but large enough for a couple of days, very clean and the bathroom was more than adequate with a superb shower. The breakfast ( which is free if you book direct with the Townhouse) was excellent and set us up for the day. Location is very convenient to shops, Temple Bar, bus stop etc. One downside to the Townhouse is that it isn't licensed but there are plenty of pubs in the locality.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Townhouse.

My mother and I loved our stay at the townhouse in Dublin! Fabulous customer service, paid attention to every detail. A great place to have a quiet rest and a yummy breakfast. I would recommend the place to anyone, the location is close to the temple bar and trinity college and lots of shopping

I stayed at the Townhouse for two nights, one before and one after my tour with paddywagon tours (their office is opposite this B&B, so it works out great if you're touring with them!). First night I got a three bed room and second night a one bed, the rooms were clean on both occasions. The breakfast is sumptuous and there's a lot of variety, even for vegetarians/eggiterians. I would definitely come back.

This bed and breakfast has character (in a kind of shabby way) and is clean. Our room was on the side that faced the main road and was very noisy each night. Also, the walls were paper thin so we could hear our neighbours' midnight conversations. It served its purpose, and if you're after budget accommodation, then The Townhouse is fine. But if you are after a good nights sleep, maybe steer clear.

We needed a one night stay so settled on The Townhouse.
The tariff was cheap enough which kinda led us in the wrong direction I guess.

Ok to begin:

(1) We only got a few hours sleep as the traffic noise was terrible.
(2) The room was very small, and terribly humid and musty, and in the end we just had to open the doors/windows to increase the traffic noise to get some breathable air in the room.
(3) There was a circulation fan we were forced to turn off in the room because it was so noisy.
(4) The toilet didn't flush properly.
(5) Previous reviews on this site refer to free wifi in the room which isn't the case at all, you must go downstairs to the lounge for that.
(6) We had to buy our own soap because there was none provided in the bathroom.

Staff were friendly enough, but I think it's been a very long while since any upgrades were done on the hotel despite their own glowing reviews from days gone past.
But in the end I guess you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Away from traffic noise if you have to stay

This place was a good value for the money and the front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The location is not the best in town, but this is a city! It is very convenient to everything and a short walk (15 min) to either the convention center or temple bar. Very centrally located (1 block from Busares) and we always felt safe. Wild Rover Tours (they were great), also pickup right outside the hotel which is very convenient! Breakfast had a vast variety of food with a relaxed atmosphere, almost cafeteria style, so you can choose a full hot breakfast or a cold vegetarian one, etc. Nice selection and free with online booking. A real plus!

The room were simple, but had everything you needed. Ours faced the inside courtyard, which was quiet. They also had laundry facilities on the ground floor which was a help to us after traveling for several weeks in Europe.

Overall, a good stay - we would stay here again!

Room Tip: Book directly online from their website - free hot breakfast!
