Stayed in the o'callaghan davenport last week for 4 nights 5 days was a very comfortable stay with a large spacious clean room which had everything that you would desire from a hotel room . The design wasn't the most current but was all part of its characteristics with the building which in my opinion worked :) . Staff where very friendly and helpful also happy . The food was some of the best I've had in Dublin . Hotel is a bit far out compared to other hotels I have stayed in in the past although this wasn't a negative as there where loads of transport links taxi stop at hotel door and bus stops 20 seconds away but this is by far the best hotel I've stayed in yet when I've been in Dublin and would definitely recommend it .

I stayed at Davenport with my parents.
We had a room with one double bed and one single bed. The room had a great size and it was comfortable. It had a television and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom had a decent size and there was enough place to store your luggage in the room.
The staff is really friendly and helpfull. We had to be out of the hotel at midday and due to different flight times I was staying in Dublin a few hours longer than my parents and the staff let me have the room until 2pm.

The breakfast buffet was really good with a full Irish breakfast and continental food.
The atmosphere was really warm and welcoming. We have already decided to stay there for our future Dublin visits.

It's within walking distance to Grafton Street and other shopping streets, Pearse Station, St Stephen's Green and O'Donoghue's (one of Dublin's most famous bars).

We stayed at the o"callaghan in December and what a lovely hotel and lovely people that run it. It was comfortable, not the most current in design but comfortable enough. There are two great pubs literally across the street from here. The food was great and we enjoyed our time. We could easily walk to Grafton Street and O'Connell Street to do some holiday shopping. Location was perfect. Close enough to everything but far enough to be quiet at night. Hop on./off was just a block away. When returning we would sit in their bar for a glass of wine and rehash the day. The girls over filled the bathtub and it spilled over and the staff was wonderful about cleaning it all up without another word. V. Nice.
Wonderful stay.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor which was perfect.

Positives:
Nice, clean hotel with fantastic location to all main attractions in city by foot (if you aren't carrying kids or luggage). Had coffee at national museum around the corner every day! Beautiful. The room was VERY clean and comfortable. On-site restaurant was actually on par in terms of price with all area restaurants and the food was very good.

Negatives:
-Free wifi only for 60 minutes a day
-Bit of a hike with luggage from the trinity college air link stop
-Nice, traditional hotel but it's not "luxury" or 4* as it claims. I rated it average mainly because of this. It should be classified as 3*

We stayed in the O'Callaghan Davenport Hotel shortly before Christmas for three nights. The hotel was of good standard and the room was superbly clean. The staff are 100% excellent and cant do enough for you. Our room was large with an nice view. The location is a five minute walk from the very centre and right next to Merrion Square which is a lovely walk. Do not even question if you should stay here as it really is a very very nice place to stay.

Stayed there for two nights in december. Rooms were very good. Very spacious and thick walls, so there was no noise pollution from neighbouring guests which is so common in new build hotels. Very central and safe for a visit to dublin. Just across the road from the national gallery...just around the corner from pearse street station...ideal spot to base a dublin city visit.

Spent 3 nights here fall 2013. Good location near the Trinity College and a number of great attractions. Breakfast was good and service was good at breakfast. Hotel was clean, but over priced for value received. Rooms are small, there are no face cloths in the rooms, and don't stay here if you have a car. Had to walk over 1 block with bags from car to hotel to check in because there was no parking nearer hotel, and hotel does not have parking. We dropped rental at airport on the first day but there was no shuttle from or to the airport from the hotel. Cab ride was expensive, and buses only get you close to the hotel. Generally compared to other hotels we stayed at in Ireland, we would rate this one low except for location. This was not a four star hotel

Dear DavidO1901,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on Tripadvisor.

The car park that we use is located 200 metres from the hotel, unfortunately there is no other secure parking that is closer to us. We do advise guests to drop off their luggage and check in before they park their car to avoid having to take your luggage from the car park.

Please feel free to contact me on the below email to discuss any of your comments further.
