“Nice stay in Dublin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2012 via mobile

My husband and I stayed at the Arlington earlier this week. The location is very convenient. Our room was nice, although it appeared older. There was a balcony, which was nice to get some fresh air. We had a king sized bed (although it seemed to be two twin beds pushed together). The best part of our stay was that they had a packed breakfast ready for us at 5:30 am (since we had to get to the airport). It was also nice that they let us check our luggage while we explore before our room was ready.

i stayed three nights in this hotel last week and boy did we enjoy ourselves. the location is perfect toi explore the city, the food excellent quality and staff helpful and friendly. but my highlight has to be the band Púca who play nightly. their show is pure class and not to be missed! the energy that this group has and the passion they show for irish music is a sight to behold. the dancers too were brilliant in their efforts of showing irish culture at its best! i am irish by the way and i was so proud that visitors to this country actually do get a great deal at the arlington!!!

We stayed at this property for 4 nights in the first week of may. We arrived at the hotel at 9am & were immeditely alloted the room as we booked an early check in. The receptionist was rude but rest of the check in was smooth. The rooms are standard in luxury & could do with an improvement. Our heater was make noises at constant intervals.

The biggest positive of this hotel is its location. Right in between O connel street & temple bar overlooking the lifey river. The hotel staff in general were helpful & cordial (A special mention about Natasha who works at Sinatra's Bar & Grill who was extremly helpful & gave us some good info about Dublin.).

We attended the Irish Dancing night in the hotel which was very good.

Me and a mate stayed here on the 17th of may for Guns N Roses, we originally booked the temple bar hotel but they over were over booked so they transferred us to this Hotel.

We arrived at 4pm check in was a breeze (although there was some mix up with our booking which wasn't the hotels fault). Mags the receptionist was full of life and was great and chatty upon check in.

rooms really need a lick of paint and some new furniture and the bathrooms are horrid looking but clean.

Breakfast the next day was plenty full and very tasty nice and fresh... loads of selections between juices hot food and cereals.. check out was a breeze.

My only complaint was the night porter on duty that night wasn't very professional or well mannered.. the front door was locked at 2am and my friend and i didn't know if the bell worked or not so we pressed it 5/6 times.. the night porter came to the door and was very agitated and said "ye don't have to ring the bell that many bloody times i could here the bell" ..

all in all the hotel is great and good value for money and location is excellent but the rooms need a good revamp.

I actually stayed in this hotel in May 2010 when I got a great rate for this hotel on Expedia (buy 4 nights, get 4 nights free) so I ended up only paying for one night out of 9. This meant that I paid an average of $20 Canadian per night for a King room. The location of the hotel and the room were fantastic! The room was quite large and the free internet was a bonus. I was not impressed that some of my stuff went missing (mainly food items that were kept on the ground and may have been mistaken for garbage, but also my travel pillow). However, I was given more than fair compensation for the pillow by the staff at reception. Considering the very loud pub located inside the hotel, I did not find the rooms overly noisy.

This hotel was located within walking distance to many of the attractions. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed there for three nights. Fine room, but the breakfast was really mass produced and really rather sloppily prepared. You need a tough constitution to face it.

Room very basic & very noisey. Entertainment on till late & you could hear every word of the songs. Reception staff a bit frosty. The breakfast was the only redeeming feature, & breakfast waitress was great & very efficient. Felt robbed as we were charged over £200 a night (3 nights £600) because Take That were in concert in Dublin. Normally it would have been £40 per night, so we felt totally ripped off. We couldn't change our dates as we had to meet up with friends on these specific dates. Felt very let down & deflated about the whole nasty experience.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere !!!
