“Very pleasant stay in Dublin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2014 via mobile

Two day break with the family. Hotel was very nice and good value for money. First night we booked the meal and entertainment, which was really enjoyable. Had breakfast in the hotel on the 2nd morning. Extremely good. Plenty on offer. Staff were lovely and helpful for the whole stay, and the breakfast manager was a delight. Rooms possibly could have done with a bit of modernisation, but rooms had everything we needed and beds were lovely and comfortable. All in all, our stay in Dublin was lovely.

My wife and I stayed on 28th March for three nights, it was an enjoyable stay. The hotel is a little tired in places but it's an old hotel and I'm guessing they want to keep its character. The staff I have to say are very welcoming and helpful, the bar staff always have time for a quick chat and they are very efficient and quick to serve you. A downside was that they stop serving bar snacks around 3.00pm and go into the evening menu,we wanted a sandwich on the Sunday afternoon and we ended up going out to grab one elsewhere, a loss to the hotel! The hotel is in a great location on the banks of the Liffey out front. Temple Bar is across the other side of the water, go across halfpenny bridge and you are there. Lots of good shops to suit every pocket. The hotel is within walking distance of lots of the good places to visit, Dublin Castle, Jameson and Guiness breweries. All in all good value for money, we will definitely stay again.

we arrived at the hotel after getting the aircoach from the airport - it stopped on oconnell street about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, very easy to find. we couldnt check in straight away but could leave our bags - whilst we had a stroll and got a bite to eat. we checked in at 3pm - had a very nice room on the 1st floor, hot water was very good, excellent shower, room was very warm we had to window open every night! but better than being cold. breakfast was very good, pleasant and helpful staff and the food was very nice - plenty of choice. we watched the end of the dancing show one night -as we had headed back to the hotel for a drink or two. very good show. the hotel is a a great location, just over the ha'penny bridge to temple bar area -where we ate out and had a few drinks . some very nice bars and restaurants, bit pricey - but then dublin is a city - and you expect to pay a little bit more when in a tourist area. it was worth it though as we had a great 3 nights. would choose this hotel again for the location and the service received -well worth it - and at £440 for 2 , 3 nights b&b with flights -bargain!

Room Tip: we stayed in 127 and had no issues with noise or hot water issues. just very warm!!

Hotel was in the perfect location. The receptionist and porter were very helpful. The dinner we had was beautiful and the breakfast was first class. Have stayed in four star hotels that weren't as nice as this one. Rooms were comfortable will defiantly stay in this hotel again.

My sister & I stayed for one night before flying out very early the next morning, the staff were more than accommodating and extremely helpful!! Hotel was central & everything we needed! Our floor was very noisy but that was people staying there nothing else. I certainly couldn't fault it, I would recommend it & I would definitely stay again!

We stayed for one night on Saturday 29th March.
Check-in was grand, went very smoothly & with a very nice polite lady at reception.
The room was 114. It was a very big clean room. But it was very dated. The bathroom was very small but again very clean. There was no hot water but we didn’t complain as we were heading home so got washed there.
The room was a bit noisy while the music was going on. SO my suggestion to someone staying in the hotel would be to request a higher floor room.
We had breakfast included in our stay. The lady who greeted us & then seated us was fabulous. She was so lovely & friendly. The breakfast was fantastic. There was ample choice in food.

Room Tip: Request a higher floor room for less noise

Friendly staff and very quick to respond to needs; extra pillows and such. If youre looking for a hotel that us very dublin-ish, this is it. The rooms are old school, the hotel theme, etc. the beda are super uncomfortable, as well as the pillows. Everything is hard as a rock. The locafion is perfect; walking distance from everything. Most importantly; clean!
