“Great hotel in Temple Bar”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

Booked this hotel as it was so close to the Olympia. Was expecting it to be shabby and overrun with hens and stags however was pleasantly surprised that it was quiet and relaxing. We got a great night's sleep after our concert in an adequately furnished room. The bathroom was fine, small but clean and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. Have kept the best to the last to mention the breakfast- Fantastic! Great spread of fruit, nuts, yoghurt, cereals and breads and a freshly cooked full Irish which was as good as any 5 star hotel. Well done the Arlington.

Room Tip: We were above the heating system at side of hotel which was slightly noisy but nothing to complain a...

Hotel is located very close to everything in the city centre. The room was very basic but a good size. Bathroom is very small and really needs an upgrade! Reception staff were nice and friendly.

We had 1 major issue though, upon returning to the hotel after a night out, We knocked on the door as we seen 4 staff members in the lobby. They each turned looked at the door and turn away. We knocked again and again the same reaction. We then had to knock and ring the bell showing our room key for any of them to make an effort to open the door. We were greeted with disgust for all the staff present and their total lack of respect. We then asked if we could get some glasses of water. This request was once more received with dismay from the staff as each of them in turn threw their eyes to heaven! Eventually one of them agreed to get us some water. The manager was present and I asked if there was a problem with this, he turned and abruptly and angrily said you are getting your water and he walked away...

I would be very reluctant to stay in this hotel after this experience.

Room Tip: Try get an upper floor room....

I stayed in this hotel as a group of 6 females, 2 to a room. My room was shabby but I think they were decorating some of the rooms as my friends rooms were fresher. This however didn't affect our stay at this old fashioned typically Irish Hotel. The breakfast was second to none, even the fussiest of eaters would have found something to eat. The hotel staff were friendly enough although to be honest we didn't really have a lot to do with them as we were out all day and only slept at the hotel. There was entertainment in the Arlington in the evenings but we only glimpsed it one evening. There is also internet access in the foyer (1 euro for 5 mins) which was handy as I had no mobile signal. Would definitely stay there again, although ear plugs may be handy as I'm not used to a noisy city being a country girl.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are noisy (no air con - so had to have the windows open), although I can't com...

This hotel was not horrible in any way but it was not what we were looking forward to. I'm sure that there are more elaborate places to stay in Dublin that we would try before returning. The room was clean and not really decorated. The bathroom was nice but small, as is many other places. I was shocked that they did not offer any parking. We had to pay 15 euros a day for parking about four blocks away, a little disappointed they don't have a better option for their guests. The day staff was very nice and helpful but not so much at night. The men working nights were not social or helpful. We had a 2nd floor room just over the bar but heard NOTHING, a big relief. Elevator is very slow and "jumps" as it goes down, a little scary at times. Great location, smack dab in middle of bar district and walking distance to most attractions.

Walked into the Arlington with my boyfriend for a drink. Decided to stay for the night. Best band with only two men and their guitars. Iv never heard such talent. A must see. Thoroughly enjoyed the night. Will be back again. Friday is the night to go!!!!!

Decent sized room, free wifi, and connected to a pub that features Irish dinners, dancers and more. The location was great for accessing various parts of Dublin, and was right at the bus stop to and from the airport.
