“Old World Irish Charm!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

We had a great night at the Arlington Hotel. The location is excellent for walking around and seeing some of the highlights of Dublin. The hotel was very cozy on the stormy night, and the beds were comfortable. The customer service was great and everyone was extremely friendly. We really enjoyed the show on the Sat. night (even my teen and tween kids) which was an Irish band and then dancers (like Riverdance.) The breakfast was outstanding and exceeded all of my expectations- a full Irish breakfast (mad to order) and so much more. They even had organic yogurt! So, it's worth overlooking the areas of the room that may need some paint or caulking, and just enjoy the old world charm.

Room Tip: High Floor

The Arlington Hotel in Temple Bar was in an incredible location with easy access to Temple Bar, Grafton Street, St. Patrick’s, Trinity College and even the Guinness Storehouse. It was very central and we didn’t need to take public transportation once to get around the city. The bus that takes you from the airport into the city also has a stop directly across the street from the hotel. The room was clean and cozy. Given the location, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if street noise bothers you. We were on the third floor, facing the back of the hotel, and it was still pretty loud – especially around 2:00-4:00am. The rooms are a bit on the warm side, so you likely need to sleep with the windows open, which doesn’t help. Again – this is something you sign up for when staying in such a central location. The location is well worth a little street noise.

The staff was friendly and we recommend paying the extra for their breakfast. It was really large and kept us full all day. We didn’t check out the restaurant or live music on the first floor but it looked really nice and they had beer taps built in to tables so you can pour your own pints, which looked like fun. Finally, the room was a great value. We’d absolutely recommend staying here and we would stay here again during a future visit.

Room Tip: I'd reccomend a room on a higher floor and facing the back of the hotel if possible.

In city center so v good location. Pleasant room if a bit on the warm side. Asked for a room away from aircon vents but had a very noisy one outside our window! Breakfast is good but too early, we go to Dublin for music and we are involved in sessions, so often late to bed. Breakfast supposed to finish at 10am but they start packing away at 9.45. Can still order a cooked breakfast but cereals juices etc. often gone by 9.45 and you have to eat with them packing away and reorganizing the room around you.

I have just finished eating here with my sisters and husband. Really lovely atmosphere, where we had our own booth surrounded by historical items and furnishings while listening to live folk Irish music. Very reasonably priced with food ranging from steaks and burgers to Irish stews and soups. My sisters are gluten free and they also found lovely food to eat. Only reason this has not been given 5 stars is because the burger patties were quite small on the roll, steak was cooked well done rather than rare and we had to send one dish back as it didn't come as requested (chips rather than mash potato) although this was resolved quickly and we didn't have too wait too long for any of the food. Brilliant place to come for an Irish feel!

3 days in Dublin at the Arlington Temple Bar Hotel was combined with a flight package from my travel agent......which, yes, included breakfast. Everyone raves about the breakfast, but, I had day coach trips to the Cliffs of Moher (first day) and the Giants' Causeway (second day) and early check-in for an international flight (last day) that had me leaving before serving time and I never got to enjoy a traditional Irish breakfast. (Maybe next time)
The room was very clean and relatively modern (for an ages old building).....and I was VERY pleased. However, I've wracked my brain wondering who has their TP holder over the back of the toilet......but, easily fixed.......I took it off and set it on the dressing counter nearby. It was a daily battle with housekeeping, but, once again, easily remedied. Yes, it's a small bathroom, but a good, strong shower, nice size dressing counter and a toilet that doesn't have to be primed a dozen times to flush......it was more than adequate for a single traveler.
Huge comfortable bed......with many power outlets near the head of the bed. Great for charging phones, tablets, back-up batteries, cameras, etc. all within arms reach. Nice TV in the room......never turned it on!!!
The staff was gracious and very hospitable. Each morning I was greeted with a "Good Day" on my way to the tour meetup.......and each evening as I returned, they inquired as to whether I'd need a wake-up call for the following morning. The big things are easy.....but, it's the attention to fine detail that I watch for and appreciate. Every request I had was met with a genuine smile and concern.
Great Location.......short walk and you're in the middle of Temple Bar, but still relatively quiet around the hotel. Great entertainment in the Hotel Bar......but, no noise from it on the 3rd. floor.
Thank you, Arlington Temple Bar Hotel, for helping to make this old Irish gal's memories of Eire the absolute best!!!

Room Tip: I was on the 3rd floor facing to the back......there was a little street/party noise.....but, that w...

Great for the price...especially when you book with the breakfast included. The room was a little stuffy and the street got noisy, but that's to be expected when you are in the city center. I highly recommend.
