“Noisy”
Reviewed 17 April 2013

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel between 12th and 15th April and have to say that the bedrooms and bathrooms are in desparate need of a total makeover. Our towels were not changed unless we asked for them to be changed and then we were given damp towels!!!! The noise from the nightclub on the premises is horrendous and fortunately we had a back room so that was the only noise we got, but our friends had a front room and the noise from the street was horrific. Not a hotel to be recommended for a quiet break!!! The only thing in its favour is the breakfast which was extra but excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. However, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.;

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, ask for a room at the back.

My sister and I aged 23-25 stayed in the harcourt hotel on Friday 12th April for one night. To be honest, the hotel is ok, but I wouldn't be rushing back. Te hotel itself is very clean but the rooms are small and the bathroom is tiny. However, the one thing that I will say is that the breakfast was lovely and well worth the money; Fresh fruit was available as was a traditional Irish breakfast. Within the hotel there is a nightclub which runs on till the early hours of the morning-about 3am- the music was so loud I could not get to sleep at all! On top of this, there is another nightclub acros th road which ran on until 5am, so between the two of them the vibes were pumping. After the clubs, people were obviously out on the street which seemed for hours shouting etc. this hotel is fine for people who intend on styling out the whole night, but really not advisable for anyone else.

Last minute idea to book a city centre hotel rather than spring for a taxi home. Hot suckered in with €49 double room from iPhone app. Turned out no parking, add €15 and a long walk for that. No breakfast, add €9 if you want that. The room was clean but stank of stale cigarette smoke and was situated directly over a nightclub so loud we could barely hear TV. Staff used a store room next door constantly with no consideration for guests. I would feel sorry for anyone travelling from abroad and ending up here. Probably grand for a stag weekend or something

I stayed here 2nd & 3rd April 2013, i was not informed before our stay that water would be off for our entire stay 7pm - 7am one day & 9pm - 9am each day, which meant at nights for showering & mornings especially with a baby this was so hard for us & we had no bath in r room so washing was in the sink for our 18 month child!! At nights from 9 pm the noise was a disgrace, with the harcourt nightclub below us & the noise of cars, drunk people on the street it was unbareable to sleep & especially for our daughter hearing all this noise!! There was NO car parking onsight or not even a facility to drop off bags, we had to park 5 minutes down the street illegally & carry our luggage up & down & then park our car 20 minutes away!! I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL ESP IF TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN!!

I stay here for 3 nights, moved out for 2 nights as it was full and back in for another 2 nights.
The room we had at the start of our stay was a nice big room with a small table and 3 chairs and a double bed.
When we arrived back to the hotel for our second stint, we were put in the attic of the second building into possibly the smallest room in the hotel.
We had arrived early for the 2nd part of our stay here and we were told our room would be ready in 10-15 mintues.... we were still waiting 30minutes, when we decided to not wait any longer. We went off for the day and arrived back later that evening and we were sent to our room on the 5th floor. - there is no lift to the 5th floor so we got out at the third floor and dragged our bags up the 2 flights of stairs to the 5th floor.
I was in complete shock when we entered our room.... to actually sell a room like this to guests visitng from overseas is outrageous - I have stayed in my fair share of hostels and this was by far the worst room I have ever stayed in.
Disapointed and appalled by the lack of hospitality - especially by the fact that this was our second visit in 1 week.

Room Tip: Do not book for comfort.

Me and the boyfriend just got back from a 3 night stay here. It was a spur of the moment trip so booked with LastMinute and got a great deal! The hotel is in walking distance of everything other than the airport! It's literally MINUTES walk away from St Stephen's Green, Temple Bar, Trinity College, The Wax Museum. So convenient its unreal.

We had a stress free check in, our room was ready and waiting for us, clean sheets, plenty of towels, tea and coffee on hand as well as the complementary soaps and shampoos. When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to pre-book breakfast for €6 each rather than €8 on the day. We chose two days and i would highly recommend their breakfast! Its buffet style and there's everything you could want on hand. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and the maid on our floor (who we saw everyday) was so sweet and always had a smile for us!

The hotel has a bar/club downstairs which looked really great, but we never heard any noise from our room on the second floor, just the Luas going past. The restaurant Little Caesars which is attached to the hotel is lovely! Really good prices for gorgeous food. The pizza in particular (that they also do to take away) is the nicest I've ever had!!

I read a lot of reviews on here before we went about noise and poor cleanliness. I can honestly say i didn't find either to be a problem, yes the room was slightly dated but it was SPOTLESS. They also have a great policy when it comes to towels, if you want it washing put it on the floor of the bathroom, if it hasn't been used leave it on the rail. I think that its great to see a company thinking about water waste, not to mention the staffs time.

The only criticism I have with the hotel is the shower. It took quite a while to heat up in the morning and the shower head was really high up i thought. That's something you can live with though.

I would highly recommend staying here and I will definitely will be if i visit Dublin again in the future.

Myself and husband spent a weekend in Dublin recently. As we had stayed at the Harcourt on previous occasions, we had no worries about staying there again. There were stag and hen-dos while we were there but we had no issues with them at all.

There was no organised racing break that weekend, but Paul, the Sales and Marketing Manager, gave us a price, we booked it with NIR travel and Paul even organised tickets for the racing at Leopardstown! There is a LUAS stop a few yards from the Harcourt and we used that to take us to Sandymount, where there was a shuttle bus to the racecourse. All so easy!

Our room was lovely, faced to the front so was quieter, just heard the LUAS going past. The bar is lively and the food we had in it was excellent. Will definitely be using the Harcourt again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back overlooking the beer garden are noisier. I would always try to get a front facing...
