“Convenient location for city centre”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

The hotel is fine and convenient for the city centre. We were given vouchers for complimentary drinks in the bar which was a nice bonus. We had been warned that the hotel was noisy, and while our room was away from the road we were next to the air conditioning plant. It wasn't great but you get used to it after a while. There is live music in the bar normally but this was suspended while the World Cup was on, so that isn't something I can comment on. There was some mould in the shower but the room was clean otherwise. Overall a pleasant basic hotel with friendly staff.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your feedback.

I am delighted that your overall stay with us was enjoyable and comfortable.

Please accept my sincere apology for the room allocation near to the air-con unit. Had we been aware of this issue on the night of your stay with us, we would have been in a position to offer you a room move.

We hope to welcome you back in the near future.

Kind regards,
Kris Kumar.

If you don't expect frills and a quiet night's sleep then this hotel is close to ideal. It's basic and nothing fancy but our rooms were clean and the hotel staff friendly and helpful. We were a party of 6 in 4 rooms (2 sets of couples, 2 singles) and not one of us had a complaint about the room(s) so that counts for something. Yes, it's very noisy but then we expected that and were prepared not to sleep too soundly. Temple bar in itself is an incredibly vibrant and noisy area, coupled with the fact that hotel's VAT bar has live music until past midnight most nights and that the M nightclub is housed in the basement, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SLEEP - especially weekend nights. Also, remember that when you do fall asleep the pre-dawn beer deliveries and street cleaners will wake you up. TAKE EARPLUGS.... Loved, loved, loved the one-man guy that serenaded us until 2am on the Saturday night we were there. He had a great voice and a wonderful repertoire of songs. We didn't eat breakfast so can't vouch for the food served in the dining hall. The best part of the hotel is the location - it's central to everything: bars, food, culture (Trinity college), DART, Liffey, etc. etc.

Room Tip: Take an inside room but don't expect it to be that much quieter...

Dear Valued Guest,

Many thanks for your feedback.

I am very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Being in such a prime city centre location, on the one side is accessibility to most major Dublin attractions and events but on the other side, it will be noisy. We couldn't control street noise.

We look forward to welcome you back in the near future.

Kind regards,
Kris Kumar.

Blooms hotel is right in the heart of the Temple Bar area. Our room was clean but spartan. No chairs or clock/radio was in the room. Being in the heart it was noisy until about 2 am but that is the price you pay for how close everything is. The front office staff was very helpful with our questions and requests. If you stay here you know what comes with it. You want a quiet place this is not it but I assume it is the same for all hotels in the area. We were there the first week of July. We would stay there again.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your review.

I am glad that your stay overall was enjoyable & comfortable and you found the staff to be helpful and friendly. It is highly unusual for us to hear that there was no chair in the room at all. Please accept my sincere apologies for that and I would like to assure that this issue has been addressed.

Hoping to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future.

Kind regards,
Kris Kumar.

We stayed two nights and were disappointed with the noise level from the street. When we checked in we asked for a quiet room if possible and were told that there weren't really any quiet rooms. Although the reception staff tried to accommodate us, our room was right on the street so the street noise kept us from getting rest. We were also told upon check-in that the noise issue was addressed on the website and it wasn't. The room was dingy and not well cleaned. This was the least favorite of stays during our 10 day trip to Ireland.

Room Tip: Rooms on the street are never quiet evening during the week.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your feedback.

I am disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Please accept my sincere apologies for that. As we are very centrally located, one side it is very convenient to all our guests but on the other side it will be noisy also because we have no control over street noise.

Please feel free to contact me directly when booking your reservation and I will ensure that on your next visit you enjoy the hospitality of the Blooms Hotel.

Kind regards,
Kris Kumar.

I stayed here with friends on 10th of July. Much better than the photos represent on here. The staff at reception were lovely and very helpful at both check in and check out. Room was basic but clean and had everything that I needed. Excellent location and I look forward to staying again. Thank you Blooms!

We loved this hotel!!! The location is spot on, just few meters from temple bar.
The rooms were great size, the service was good, the price was good, and best of all; the have the greatest pub! The VAT house is exellent, and they keep the pub open for the hotell guest for as long as you want :-)

Blooms Hotel is certainly in an excellent location in the center of Temple Bar in Dublin. It would be perfect for those planning on enjoying the nightlight. However, we arrived extremely jet lagged and wanting to get to bed early so we could enjoy the next day. It was IMPOSSIBLE to sleep until after 2:30 am because the music was so loud. There was no air conditioning in the room so it was very hot and stuffy. The bed and pillows were not too comfortable. We spent two sleepless nights here. Only writing the negatives to warn others like us that this may not be the place for you if you're not big into the nightlife. You're staying in the middle of the most popular place in Dublin, so it can't be expected to be quiet.
