This castle is THE place to stay in Dublin. It is a very modern hotel inside an old castle. Everywhere you go, there are ultra modern touches next to an old artifact. We absolutely loved this castle.

The area Clontarf Castle Hotel is located in is quiet and pretty easy to find. It's only a 10 minute drive to Temple Bar. The hotel always has taxis around so and it was less than 15 euros for 4 people to get to Temple Bar.

The rooms were very nice and modern. You couldn't even tell that you were in an ancient castle. I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dublin that wants a little Irish nostalgia in a quiet neighborhood.

We only stayed one night at the Clontarf Castle but it was a wonderful place. We arrived well before check-in but were allowed to check into our rooms. We then descended upon the front desk for suggestions of where to go. They were not only helpful but gracious and polite. Considering our group that had 12 people with an age range of 5 months to 50, they had suggestions for something interesing for all of us. They also had great suggestions on the best way for a large group to get around in Dublin.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The kids loved the suits of armour and the tiny little (hidden) sitting room off the main lobby. The room was clean and well decorated. The bed was comfortable. I will be back.

We have just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at Clonatrf Castle Hotel. It was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the room and breakfast were great. A special ention has to go to Sharrif in the restaurant and Maya ( not sure if that's how you spell the name) who took wonderful care of our 3 children while we had a relaxing dinner and Philip who took them on an amazing treasure hunt. Thanks to everyone at Clontarf Castle. We hope to return again some day.

My partner and I reguarly visit Dublin and we just love Clontarf Castle. We now tend to stay a few times a year and have always had a most delightful stay. The staff are very friendly, the room are great with that special castle feeling. I love the entrance foyer! Only small drawback is that it is a little far out from town but Anker the conceirge has helped us out on numerous occasions with a chap called Eric Duffy who is a chauffeur in an S-class Mercedes but for little more than a taxi fare with full on service. We also stayed at Clontarf for the U2 concert last year...and the whole experience was very special, hard to explain on here. If you can try to stay in one of the suites. This is one of the best value high performing hotels in Ireland. We are trying to book a B&B in the west of Ireland in Dingle and it is more expensive than Clontarf Castle...crazy. All the best in your travels..

We were on our way to Germany (and beyond) and had a one night layover in Chicago with a very late arrival and a busy day sightseeing before we took the red eye flight to Dublin. So when we arrived at the castle we were ready for some peace and quiet which is what we got. Upon arrival we walked to the small village and had breakfast. When we returned they let us check into our room early which was much appreciated. The room was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. The bath was fairly small but clean and efficient. We had a pleasant dinner and a good rest before setting out on the next stage of our trip the next day.

We booked the "romance package" which was a really good deal as we got a great room with 4-poster bed, champagne, chocolates plus dinner and breakfast - all in all a very pleasant stay in a beautiful hotel.
