Costs the same to stay in this 5star hotel as it does to stay in a pub hotel in central Dublin. Well worth staying here instead. Really nice hotel, got upgraded to superior king room, bed was gigantic!! Very clean and the staff were nice. Free internet. Also 2 mins away from a 'hop on hop off' Tour bus stop. (Heuston station) The Luas tram also stops out the front. We bought the 'Hop on hop off' bus pass which last for 2 days and just used this as transport for the days we were there to get around to all main attractions and city.

Stayed here recently in the superior King Size room. Room was spotless, bed very comfortable and overall very good. The only grib I would have is that the luas passed outside the bedroom which was noisy in the morning.

Would stay here again.

I was in Dublin for a match this week and since I was travelling by train and had an early departure time I decided to stay at the Ashling, less than five minutes walk from Heuston Station.

The hotel was great. I arrived early and wasn't able to go to the room until 2.30 but I was able to leave my bag and do the check in before coming back to collect the keys. They also informed me about the express check out, where the check out form is put under your room door, you sign it and leave it in a box at reception. Ideal if you know you will be in a hurry when you are leaving the hotel.

The breakfast was a typical buffet breakfast with a good selection of food and helpful staff.

It is in a reat location, just next to the National Museum at Collins Barracks and walking distance from The Phoenix Park, Guinness brewery and Arbour Hill cemetery. O'Connel St is about 30 minutes away via a pleasant walk along the river. The tram(Luas) stops nearby if you want a quicker trip to the city centre.

I totally agree with the review written by fluteplayer1958, about food, service, rooms, location and atmosphere.

In my opinion the cost of drink was in line with the star rating of the hotel and the fact it is in a capital city in Europe. The cost of a pint of Guinness in the bars was between 5-6 euros which was the same as a pint of Stella in Paris when I last visited.

We purchased a three day bus ticket in the airport at the tourist information desk, which included the return journey to and from the airport, hop on and hop off city bus tour and unlimited travel on Dublin buses. As the hotel is a very short walk from Heuston Station (the last stop of the 747 Airlink route, it is also on the City tour route and you also get a choice of a number of bus routes which take you into the town center. The price was 26 euros but as we had decided that we where going to use these facilities before we arrived we saved a fair bit of money.

I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a short break to Dublin. We stayed 2 nights at the Ashling Hotel on a Midweek Special Offer 2 nights BB+ED for 178 euros total. This was amazing value for money!

Check in staff were very polite, efficient and friendly. The room was spotless and was air conditioned. Good sized bathroom well supplied with toiletries. The evening dinner (from theTable d'Hote Menu) was excellent. The quality of the food and standard of cooking was first class and the chef and his staff should be congratulated. For dessert the waiter recommended the Panna Cotta in chocolate soup which was totally amazing! All in all an excellent meal.

Breakfast was also excellent with the choice of continental or cooked. The hotel bar has a good atmosphere and during our stay was very busy although the price of drinks was quite expensive but this is common in most hotels.

The hotel is very well situated and a short ride on the LUAS tram takes you right into the heart of the city (the nearest LUAS stop is approximately 200 metres). The hotel provides secure parking in their multi storey car park (reduced rates for residents) which we availed of as we had driven to Dublin.

Overall this hotel is an excellent hotel to explore Dublin. It is well situated, provides excellent facilities, has friendly and efficient staff and with their current special offers provides 10 out 10. I would certainly recommend this hotel to one and all.
