My sisters and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in October 2011. The food was great and the staff greeted us with a smile. Hop on Hop off bus stop and tram stop outside hotel - great location and only short distance from busy areas. We visited a wee bistro one block from the hotel which had really good food and again friendly staff! The local pub called the Millenium was fab we danced and sang with the locals. Dubliners are the best!!!! i would recommend this hotel to everyone.
ONE COMPLAINT ALCOHOLIC DRINKS ARE EXTORTIONATE maybe thats why everyone smiles as you spend your money - joking :)

In the space of 2 weeks I stayed there for 5 nights on business. Hotel is clean but not near any other restaurants. Staff at reception friendly. The restaurant let's the place down with poor service from staff and long waits for food ordered.

On one occasion I was asked if I was ready order to which I replied yes only to have the member of staff ignore me and welcome new guests, seat them and explain the menu!

Twice I had made reservations only to turn up and my reservation could not be found

Over priced for a la carte restaurant that has poor service. Food is good if you are prepared to wait

We stayed at this hotel in Oct 2011 on the first and last nights of our Ireland tour. AAA booked us into this hotel as part of our drive yourself tour of the country and both couples in our party were very pleased. Initially we were both booked into a King room and on the return trip a Queen room. Both were extremely clean, modern and very comfortable! The beds and linens are great. Both rooms were very spacious and quiet. The breakfast was fantastic - so many different choices and all served in a very large dining room that had a small hotel feel to it. The location was a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still only a 15 minute walk from the Temple Bar area and Guiness Factory. We loved this hotel and would definitely stay here if we are so lucky to visit Ireland again!

I stayed 2 nights at Ashling Hotel in October. For the price you pay , you get much more than expected. Great standard of rooms, clean, modern and bright bathroom, efficient service ( although i didn't have any special requests ). Free Internet and lots of channels on tv in different languages. Working Aircon.
Breakfast was great as well! You can choose between continental and Irish full breakfast plus you have a great selection of everything you need for breakfast. Also fresh fruit.
Good location > its little bit of walk to the centre but if you are too lazy you can catch a tram just opposite the hotel. Additionally there are always taxis just across the street.
Overall, better experience than at the more expensive hotels I stayed in.

Costs the same to stay in this 5star hotel as it does to stay in a pub hotel in central Dublin. Well worth staying here instead. Really nice hotel, got upgraded to superior king room, bed was gigantic!! Very clean and the staff were nice. Free internet. Also 2 mins away from a 'hop on hop off' Tour bus stop. (Heuston station) The Luas tram also stops out the front. We bought the 'Hop on hop off' bus pass which last for 2 days and just used this as transport for the days we were there to get around to all main attractions and city.

Stayed here recently in the superior King Size room. Room was spotless, bed very comfortable and overall very good. The only grib I would have is that the luas passed outside the bedroom which was noisy in the morning.

Would stay here again.

I was in Dublin for a match this week and since I was travelling by train and had an early departure time I decided to stay at the Ashling, less than five minutes walk from Heuston Station.

The hotel was great. I arrived early and wasn't able to go to the room until 2.30 but I was able to leave my bag and do the check in before coming back to collect the keys. They also informed me about the express check out, where the check out form is put under your room door, you sign it and leave it in a box at reception. Ideal if you know you will be in a hurry when you are leaving the hotel.

The breakfast was a typical buffet breakfast with a good selection of food and helpful staff.

It is in a reat location, just next to the National Museum at Collins Barracks and walking distance from The Phoenix Park, Guinness brewery and Arbour Hill cemetery. O'Connel St is about 30 minutes away via a pleasant walk along the river. The tram(Luas) stops nearby if you want a quicker trip to the city centre.
