Near the Huston Station "across the street" for easy rail connections. Tram stops right outside hotel. Great rooms Excellent Showers and restaurants are good as well. No complaints...

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Ashling Hotel as part of our Ireland Railtour package. We found the hotel to be clean, efficient with a modern decor. The location was excellent within an easy walk to the Heuston station where we boarded the train, Luas and Air Link bus. The bar area was very comfortable with chairs and sofas.
We did have difficulty with heat initially but the staff responded and brought an additional heater.
We also found the staff to be helpful when the printer was having difficulty printing our boarding passes. (There is a charge to use the computer/printer).

The hotel was surprisingly good. Rooms were quite big and clean enough. There is only one thing that bothered me: They are not prepared to deal with international travelers. Me and my wife were coming from a long flight with a time zone of 4 hours diference. We booked this hotel because we got in Dublin at 9pm and missed the last train. The hotel is close to Heuston Train station and there are no restaurants nearby... For my surprise the hotel kitchen closes at 9:30pm, after that they only serve cold sandwichs (not very nice choices).
We end calling Dominos for a pizza (got their number on the internet), and everything was fine.

Location - Good for west end of city. 5 mins walk from Heuston Station & Luas Red Line. Airport buses leave from Heuston too. 15 mins walk to Kilmainham for Museum of Modern Art & Gaol. Located in non-residential, office area. A couple of bars near but otherwise pubs, cafes & restaurants in city central a 20 min walk, a Luas trip or a taxi ride.

Room - We upgraded to a Superior. Spacious room & huge bathroom. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Fairly sparsely furnished. We were located at the front of the hotel & although it wasn't too noisey we were aware of the Luas & traffic.

Staff - All very approachable & obliging. Early check-in (1.20pm) was not an issue.

Bar - Relaxing & comfortable. Very efficient staff, Unusually for a hotel bar it was comfortable and busy. Bar food reasonably priced (fish cakes, Irish Stew, salads, toasties, etc.

Breakfast - 2 choices. Continental for 9 euro or full Irish for 12, both buffet style. we had the continental which was the usual juice, cereal, breads, etc. Not brilliant but acceptable.

Room Tip: If I was staying again I would ask for a room at the rear, no view but quiet I would imagine.

The last time I visited the Ashling I was not impressed! That was about 4 years ago, so when a friend suggested we go there for a bite to eat before we caught the train at Heuston I wasn't all that keen on going.
However I was very pleasantly surprised. The girl at reception was lovely, we sat in the lounge/bar and had tea and scones, (which were tasty and very resonable)
The decor is vastly different and much improved from what I had remembered, and the whole place felt like a different hotel, friendly, spotless and very relaxing. Had it not been for the train we could have happily stayed there for hours! Well done Ashling, I will be back again for a visit and perhaps a stay!

This was our first trip to Dublin & won't be our last .The Ashling was perfect, from being upgraded
as it was my birthday, the gift of chocolates on my birthday ,to the delightful room with a view and excellent breakfasts. The staff both friendly and helpful. The location was ideal as it was so close to the stops for the Hop on/ Hop off buses and the Luas trams. Definitely will stay there again.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor with a great view over the city and had been upgraded to a King Superior ro...

This hotel is ideally located on the outskirts of the city centre on the Luas red line. We spent a couple of days in Dublin, parked the car up and just hopped on and off the Luas red line taking in shopping at the Jervais SC, The Guinness Store House, Kilmainham Jail and the Jameson Bewery. We felt like true tourists even though we only live an hour away!
The hotel was stunning from reception right up to our room on the 7th floor - got upgraded when they heard we were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. The room was very modern, very clean and extremely spacious. Our ensuite was the real treat, beautiful shower with rain water head, double sinks and a bath. Breakfast was the best breakfast I have ever had in and Irish hotel, Served buffet style but the selection of cold meats, cheeses, olives, fruits, juices and the traditional irish breakfast was fantastic. On one of our evenings we had bar food which again was another real treat. We ordered the seafood chowder which was a meal in itself and the guinness pie with home cut chips which came with a little shot of guinness, so so tasty... Having stayed in many hotels in Dublin down through the years I think its safe to say that from now on we will be staying at the Ashling Hotel.

Room Tip: The 7th floor is a real treat!
