The hotel location is excellent!! Close to the centre hence taxi trips were not expensive and you can walk to the Guinness Storehouse! It is also close to tram stops to get to the Connolly station or other parts of the Dublin centre. The hotel lobby is very nice and tastefully decorated. It made us feel welcomed and relaxed. The check-in staff were pleasant and efficient. The room was find, however for a 4 star hotel it could really do with an improvement because the room furniture and decor were a bit dated.

We went to the hotel bar, originally planned to have a few drinks before heading out to Temple Bar for something to eat and enjoy some live music, but ended up leaving early because we didn't have a very good experience. After we sat down in the bar, it was busy (a restaurant/bar) so it took us a few minutes longer than expected before our drinks order were taken, which was ok. The waitress forgot what we ordered and had to come back and check with us. About 15 minutes later the drinks were nowhere to be seen. We had to chase for our drinks and the waitress said were on their way. Another 5-7 minutes later the drinks didn't arrive and we asked another member of staff to chase it up for us. We were told they are making it now and the drinks eventually arrived. We didn't get an apology from the staff but didn't make a fuss as we just want to have a relaxing time. First taste of the cocktails - they were nice - if we ordered non alcoholic drinks! We ordered alcoholic cocktails but we could hardly taste the alcohol in them. They tasted more like fruit punch you can easily make in your own home. Ok, the restaurant/bar was busy that night but waiting almost 30 minutes for a couple of drinks and paid nearly 30 euros for them?! Really?! We wouldn't mind if the drinks were excellent and worth waiting for. We finished our drinks quickly and decided not to stay as originally planned - before it ruins the rest of the night for us. We were a bit put off to try out the restaurant for breakfast in the morning as well. Checking out was swift, again met by pleasant and friendly reception staff. A bit of a shame they didn't ask how was our stay so that we could have praised them and provided other feedback straight away.

We visit Dublin very often and stayed in different hotels. In summary, the location, the general atmosphere and front desk/reception experience of this hotel, we would say it was excellent! The room was ok for the price we paid for. But other services and some of the rooms need improvements.

Thank you for your comments about your recent stay at the Ashling Hotel. I do apologise for your experience in the bar. We do not want anyone to be waiting so long for their drinks, and I do understand that cocktails will take a little longer, but to wait 30 minutes is unacceptable. So for that, I thank you for bringing this to my attention, as I will now look to see what changes need to be made to make sure this does not happen again. Thank you for saying that all other aspects of your stay were enjoyable and I hope you remember those and return to stay with us again.

Kind Regards

My partner and I stayed in the Ashling for 4 days over valentines weekend and i cannot fault the hotel.
The room was a superiour delux king size room with the largest bathroom i have seen by far in a hotel! It was beautifully decorated and the views out to the front of the hotel of the river were lovely. It was clean and tidy and everything that could have been wanted for a weekend away.
The hotel location is fantastic with a tram stop both to the left and right of the hotel and a train station just over the bridge. It is very well connected to the city centre as well as the Zoo and Guinness factory.
We dined in both the resturant and the bar and found the food selection to be absolutely delicious on both accounts. The staff are friendly and even when very busy take the time to ensure that your completely satisfied.
I would thoroughly reccommend this hotel for any visitis to Dublin and will be sure to stay again when i visit again.
A wonderful hotel!

We stayed here for 2 nights. We were aware check in was at 3pm but landed quite early in the morning. We asked if our room was ready, it wasn't but we were offered a superior deluxe suite for an extra €60, we saw pics before & were sold straight away! The room was absolutely stunning!! From the interior to the views we were really impressed :-) throughout our stay the staff could not of been more helpful & polite! We had an amazing stay & will definitely be returning, sooner rather than later hopefully

30 years of the marriage adventure celebrated in Dublin at the Ashling hotel. Request was for flowers and chocolates to be in the hotel room upon arrival...numerous emails to this effect passed back and forth. Hotel room, no chocolates or flowers; more emails no response. Read card "If you like us tell someone, if you don't tell us", so l did. The duty manager (Phillip Sheridan) couldn't have been more helpful clearly understanding my profound disapointment and the compensation proffered was accepted hence the rating. Mistakes were made yet surely the judgement shouldn't rest there it should be the follow through, and in this they were faultless.

In all this the food and room were great and the location though slightly out from the main centre was not a problem with the three day bus ticket bought.

Stay in this lovely hotel whenever we stay in the capital. Stayed over easter. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were more than friendly. Traveled with a child and staff always made a fuss of him. Can't wait for our next stay. Also our room was so quiet we hardly even heard the traffic.
