“Hanged mans Arch in the Kildare Countryside”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

This nice old world feel pub / rest is located in the village of Miltown near Nwebridge in the Kildare countryside. It retains the olde worlde atmosphere of a old pub with modern amenetities and serving good quality food and drink. There is a well balanced food on offer and the seafood chowder is a favourite .Has won several bar awards and close to the three racecourses of Co. Kildare A nice place to stop.

Room Tip: Can miss it if not familiar with the area

While not the Ritz it is very comfortable and well maintained. Staff are very helpful, rooms are well appointed and a large bowl of fresh fruit was a pleasant surprise. Parking garage is attached to the hotel.

We ended out trip by staying at the Ashling a couple of nights. We toured the city via tour bus. But staying at the Ashling was really great. The variety of food was good as well as the prices. Breakfast was included in out booking and the breadth of goodies was far. From continental to full Irish breakfast. Delicious. We had dinner there in the bar area, relaxing with a pint. The accommodations were excellent. clean, neat and comfortable. Shower water pressure was enough to wash away the travel kinks and made me feel refreshed.

I was glad we chose the Ashling to bid farewell to a beautiful country with beautify people.

This hotel is just across the street from the train/bus station. We took the bus from the airport, it was so easy, fast and inexpensive. We really enjoyed staying here, the location to the city center is a little bit further but the hop on/off buses take you anywhere you want to go. Not far from Temple Bar, you could walk, it would take about 5 minutes. We were greeted with a smile; the staff was very friendly and helpful and was great in explaining how to get around. The rooms were nice, larger than some hotels in Europe; the bathroom was large with lots of counter space. The beds were comfortable and quiet. We did have breakfast which is about 14 Euro but there is so much to choose from. This is a very nice hotel and we would stay there again.

Enjoyed staying here with my wife, ideal location, very close to a tram stop. Got a free upgrade too, which was good. One thing- don't visit Dublin on good friday- all the bars closed. Cramped our style a little, though we were able to get a drink in the hotel.

Just back from a 5 night stay in the Ashling. Everything about the hotel was brilliant. My room was on the 2nd floor and was very comfortable. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Location is good, red line luas stops just outside the door.

Apart from the very friendly staff, clean rooms, great bar and good breakfast, the position of this hotel is ideal. Only a few short steps from the tram, which passes the hotel, and facing the Guinness brewery.
