Poolhouse is a nice mega disco now, so dont expect a quiet night before 3:00. Lift is still out of order, magnetic keys are not verry efficient, rooms are almost on the third floor, There is no real breakfasts facility included in the hotel services.

Stayed in this hotel in early augut this year. Arrived early, and were told room was not ready , so went out to meet a few freinds.
When we eventually went back to the hotel that night to check in, the staff were incredibly rude and demanded payment up front.
Quite unusual we thought. Two female freinds wanted to use the bathroom in our rooms before we went out for the evening, and were refused entry. They were then alsio denied access to the bathrooms in the lobby as they were not geusts and staff were incredibly rude and insulting. I must point out that we are were all well behaved mature people. We attempted to book another hotel but were unable to do so so were forced to stay. Rooms were badly kept, furniture in poor condition. Windows opened onto the main street and would not close. Loud music thumped through the building from the disco downstairs. Bathroom was poorly cleaned. It seems obvious that this hotel is a stag / hen night crash pad and little more. I will never stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone. I must point out that the staff that were on duty the next morning were very polite and helpful. The nighht staff howeevr were amongst the very worst I have ever experienced.

Large room, large bathroom, great shower for an older place. We had a double room which surprisingly had a king size bed but it was really just 2 twins pushed together. One hard as a rock, the other U shaped. Good location, nice staff, moderately clean. For the price it was decent, probably not a good idea if you have a bad back due to the beds. Although, it does have an elevator which was delightful thank you. Breakfast is not included, but a small, reasonably priced coffee shop adjoins on one side, with a pub adjoining on the other. Some hotel construction, which while it's probably a good thing to improve the hotel, doesn't help when you're trying to sleep in. All in all, it's just okay, but I've stayed in much worse.

Not the cleanest of rooms (ours had a bandaid on the floor and the kids had a dirty shower), some of the reception staff were just not very knowledgeable about the area, the City or directions, and the internet/computer ate 10 euros and still did not print our boarding passes. The kids had a room on the inside facing the back of the nightclub and heard patrons being handcuffed and escorted out of the building - they thought it funny but it would annoy adults as it must have been fairly loud. No parking, even to unload luggage but a space opened for us before we got into any trouble.

But - the price was cheap in a very expensive city. The location was close to Grafton street, Temple Bar and downtown. The easy bypassing of the line into the nightclub was also a plus. The breakfast cafe next door had the best french toast, Irish breakfast, coffee, lattes we had during our entire stay. The hotel has character if you are just a bit flexible in your outlook and with your expectations.

Stayed in the Camden Deluxe for one night only. Went to see AC/DC in the 02 and only required somewhere cheap, clean and central. Got a twin room for 75 Euro which is excellent value for a Saturday night in Dublin. The hotel entrance is through a small door which leads into the reception. The rooms themselves are named after famous Irish people and the room we stayed in was the Cyril Cusack room. Each room has the persons name on the door and our room had a photo of the actor on the wall. The room itself was clean, the bathroom was spotless and there were tea/coffee making facilities also. I would recommend this hotel for an overnight or shortweeken break for those on a budget.

I cant by any means say that this hotel was completely disgusting and to stay away from it at all costs, like some other reviewers have suggested.

I do believe that the hotel I stayed in was of an average standard, it was kept clean and tidy and was a perfect base for a busy city break. I do however believe that we paid a little too much for it, and whilst I understand that Dublin is an expensive place to holiday, I didnt feel we got that great a deal for the hard earnt money we paid.

Good points:
Very close to st stephens green , dublin castle etc
Many restaurants around
Bar and cafe attactched were of a decent standard
Very warm in the room which is exactly how I like it!

Bad points:
The receptionist was a dragon, so moody, i actually ended up being overly nice to her just to annoy her for how she was behaving!
Lift was nearly always out of order which isnt great when on top floor like us, or obviously if you have disabilities.
A bit noisy on weekends, but i think that may be the case anywhere with the drink culture there.

All in all I would say that this is a decent hotel for the money, I wouldnt rave about it but on the other hand if all you want is a bed and a shower in a good location then this is the place for you. But dont forget that breakfast is not included !!!!
