We came to Dublin for a conference and were able to get 3 nights at Kilronan House. We've had a great time. The location is a short walk from many parks and sites and the price is very good. Romi was a curteous host offering us tea of coffee (and Irish coffee) when we came in at night and the occassional sweets to go with it. Breakfast has been very good as well. We found Kilronan House on TripAdvisor, so the least we can do is repay the helpful reviews we received, by confirming them.

Stayed for one night for concert at National Concert Hall which is just 2 minute walk around the corner.
We were put in an adjacent house very similar to main house itself and had to go to main house for breakfast.
The car park is down a very tight lane at side of house but it is free and we had a laugh about it.
Room was small bit cluttered but spotless and comfortable.
Lovely breakfast and as a lot of reviewers have remarked what makes it "special" is owner and staff were so pleasant and gave everyone a real Irish welcome.Paul at reception was a gent with the patience of a saint.
If it is a B+B with lovely welcoming staff in an old georgian house, well located and reasonably priced you are looking for and not a five star hotel..........you can not fault it.

We came to Dublin for a long weekend and stayed in Kilronan House for 2 nights. For a very reasonable price we got reasonable sized rooms with TV, a large bed and ample storage space. The location is very convenient - a short walk from the town centre.
The main reason for my rating is the service which was impeccable, from all of the staff in the B&B, who were absolutely superb in helping us and solving any problem we encountered with a smile.
Will definitelhy come back again.

Room Tip: Our rooms were at the top of a long staircase (someone counted 60) but we didn't find it particu...

We booked for 4 nights based on reviews, and had 2 rooms. Room 2 was very large, with a double bed and 2 twins. Room 16 was a good size with 2 double beds. Beds were very comfortable. Both had en suite bathrooms with showers, fair sized but little counter space. Both rooms faced Adelaide Rd, which is busy during the day but very quiet at night. Walking distance to the light rail system. About 10 minute walk to St. Stephens Green and Grafton St. The staff were very helpful, and included breakfast was wonderful! Only problems we had were struggling to open the room doors (ask for help-they are old and sometimes tricky), and we were unable to call the room the rest of our party was in, but they could call us.

We stayed at the B&B for 3 nights and we had 3 double rooms. I must say the rooms are not the best - relatively small but convenient enough. What was really amazing and very not ordinary is the level of kindness that the people who are working there showed towards us. They were so kind and helpful with everything we needed and the biggest surprise came at the end - we had the flights back in the evening and we wanted to go to Howth but we didn't have anywhere to leave our bags (no point in leaving them at the b&b as Howth is close to the airport). The manager offered us to leave our bags in her own private house which was on the way to Howth and very close to the airport. When we got there, her husband came out to help carrying everything inside. How amazing is that?

I also want to add that breakfast was great and had many options to choose from. I would say all together the place is 3 star and not more then that but the people there definitely worth another star.

Room Tip: I would recommend to make sure the boiler is on earlier in the day to avoid not having hot water whe...

We were put in room #9, which is wedged in between the kitchen, breakfast area, and reception making it noisy at times. Also, it's only window is frosted glass, so there are no views and it can therefore feel pretty claustrophobic. Room was on the small side, and was a bit damp and musty feeling. Nonetheless, it seemed to be clean and well kept although very simple. Breakfast was okay with several choices for a starter (several fruit and cereal choices) and main course (pancakes and various egg choices) to be chosen off a menu, the menu did not change in the 4 days we were there so it got to be a bit repetitive. Unfortunately, the breakfast room is on the small side for the number of people it serves requiring some to wait for a table, and also service was a bit dicombubulated--one day we were asked by four separate people whether we wanted tea or coffee before actually receiving our pot of tea. The fellow guests there seemed nice, other than the group of hooligans that smashed the door in the middle of the night. The location was good, being just a short walk to St. Stephen's Green with downtown just a short walk beyond that. It is a short taxi ride from Heuston station, and is located within about 2 blocks of a bus line that will get you to the airport. The prices were much more reasonable than for other well rated places that were as conveniently located to the heart of Dublin. The few interactions we had with the hotel staff were all pleasant. Given that we did not spend much time in our rooms, I don't regret our stay there, and with a nicer room location, it might have risen to at least a 4 star rating.

Room Tip: I would recommend against room #9--it's wedged between the kitchen, breakfast room, and receptio...

We were looking for a cost-effective downtown location to begin our Ireland experience, and Kilronan House met our expectations nicely. This was our first stop after arriving at the airport, and the staff at Kilronan was very helpful by letting us leave our bags at the front desk while we headed out to explore. The rooms were adequate, but not quite up to the standard of cleanliness that we experienced at other bed and breakfasts. It is also notable that there could be up to 4 or 5 flights of stairs for rooms on upper levels. Parking in downtown Dublin is challenging, but again the staff was accommodating with no additional charge for parking here. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious. But the big draw for us was the location: we were just a few blocks from St. Stephen's Green with its lovely walking paths and a good number of nice pubs on its outskirts. And with all of us willing to explore downtown Dublin on foot, we ventured the additional few blocks to the Trinity College and Dublin Castle areas. We were then close enough to tackle the remaining few blocks to get to the Temple Bar area near the river. Overall a good value for a good downtown location.
