The Schoolhouse is a great little place to stay in Dublin. An easy walk to Grafton Street, TCD and all the usual sights, but nothing really do see or do on the doorstep (you wouldn't want to pop back to your room if you forgot your umbrella, but you might if you forgot your camera).

The place has been finished very nicely, if a little tatty round the edges (only if you look hard). The bar is a lovely place to curl up and read a book in on those cold wet days. We didn't try the food as the lunch menu was a bit limited (only full meals, no sandwiches or nibbles), and the drinks were a bit pricey. But the rooms were nice enough; the king-size bed was (as is standard these days, it seems) two singles pushed together, not terribly comfortable but I've slept on worse. The staff were very polite and friendly, there's free parking on site,

We are just home from our cosy and homely stay in the schoolhouse hotel in Dublin. My partner and I stayed for two nights, as a wee New Years treat before going back to work. It truly was a treat! The schoolhouse hotel is so cost and warm. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was just beautiful and we had the luxury of having our breakfast beside he open fire. Our room was so lovely, perfect for relaxing. We loved getting back to our room in the evening. They also deliver your newspapers to our room in the morning. We will most definitely be back to this very special place. We are planning our next trip already.

Interesting building and lovely ceilings in function rooms. The reception staff were as helpful as any I have ever encountered in Ireland and beyond and the others at breakfast and in the bar were all very friendly also. Good location - easy walking to the centre of Dublin and close to the DART station (Grand Canal) for trips down the coast. Hotel bar a bit rough and ready - but that may have been in the run up to Christmas? Room very nice - my only gripe was they did not replace used shampoo etc every day which seemed a bit stingy. Would consider using again if got a good deal but I feel the 4 star rating may be a bit wobbly unless there are renovations planned soon?

Love this place from it's unique architectural style to it's mock open fires. The staff at reception are friendly, well trained and welcoming. The location is convenient to centre city and the parking is free. The bedrooms are unusual as they appear to all be somewhat different in shape and style. The bathroom was cute with it's old style chain pull toilet, wooden flood and good shower. The matress was the best we have slept in for some time. There is a choice of eating in the bar area or the Canteen restaurant wherevthey have a good value well priced meal. The food is restaurant style rather than chain hotel style and it's good but not fabulous. The wine is well priced and the selection is good. The waitress in the restaurant was professional and friendly and the service was swift even though she was the only server. We will return again to this
Hotel which is as far from a hotel chain style as you can get.

The Schoolhouse is an incredibly charming hotel and one would be well recommended to stay there while in Dublin. We found to be the staff to be incredibly accommodating and helpful. The room was quiet, clean, and a good size. It's location probably requires that you master the Dublin bus system if you want to save time, but that is what they make iPhone apps for. I really can't think of anything negative to say. We stayed at two hotels in Dublin and I would easily choose the Schoolhouse over the other hotel any time I was back in Ireland
