We had our wedding at the Schoolhouse hotel, I cannot recommend this place enough, the staff were so welcoming and very professional. No stone was left unturned and all with so little stress. The rooms were perfect, food delicious. Everything was perfect and that is feedback from the guests at the wedding too. It is an excellent location for holiday makers so I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for two nights. Very convenient location for Aviva and RDS Stadiums - also only 10 minute cab ride from downtown Dublin. Also onsite parking. Overall our stay was fine. The room was clean and well appointed. We ate at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Food was good, service was a little lacking. There were only two wait staff and when it gets busy its pretty hectic for just two people. Very friendly and helpful front desk. We would recommend

Overall, I had a reasonable stay in the Schoolhouse Hotel. The car parking is very small and a very tight entrance but there was one space left for us so no real complaints. The hotel itself is very quaint and cute but a little dated. The room was large and clean but there was no fridge or mini-bar (which from a four star I would have expected), bathroom is small but useable and well maintained. There is wifi throughout the hotel which is a nice bonus, the bar and restaurant are very attractive and retain a lot of old features. Breakfast was a real disappointment the buffet selection was very limited with one type of yoghurt, limited fruit and all the cereal was open in bowls. There was a hot selection available to order which was basic and not particularly appetising. To say breakfast was 'thrown' at us would be a literal description as the porridge was dripped across the table and no pleasantries made. The pancakes where dry around the edges as if they had been made and left on a hot plate. Another man asked for a 'speciality' coffee and was told they were too busy to make it but he could have a standard coffee - there were approximately 4 tables of people so not exactly rushed off their feet. With the exception of breakfast those staff we dealt with where very friendly and chatty. It was a little disappointing, for me firmly an adequate 3 star but missing something to be a truly 4 star. However I would stay in this hotel again if doing something on the south side of Dublin.

Room Tip: I would have breakfast in one of the nearby Deli's or cafes rather than in the hotel.

Stayed here for one night only (luckily). Receptionist very friendly. Room fine but fridge had some sort of dirty cardboard sheet in the inside base propping it up - looked disgusting. Service in restaurant pretty bad in the sense that the guy obviously has not been trained as a waiter - not what you expect in an establishment of this sort. Food definitely average at best. Bar staff nice and friendly. Horrific smell in corridor on first floor - dread to think what it could be. Overall felt disappointed as hotel looks cute from outside. Would not choose this hotel again.

This hotel is outstanding in all areas of service and facilities. An excellent location, great rooms, superb staff who are keen to help and do so with no fuss. We have not had an evening meal there, so cannot comment on that. This was our second visit - the breakfast wasn't quite so good as last time but all the same it was above the usual standard of hotel breakfasts. It's not the cheapest of places to stay but given the location, facilities and best of all, quality of staff, it's well worth it.

This is a lovely historic hotel in Dublin. It was a short walk to the beautiful parks. Easy to park and unload our little rental car. Our child got a big kick out of watching the ducks in the water, and later a party barge move through them.
The rooms are not huge and are a bit dated, but they are well-decorated. We even had ice delivered every evening--a much-appreciated indulgence for Americans. We enjoyed the in-room movies for kids (because seriously, your child cannot watch Frozen often enough, and it's handy to be able to just flip it on). The hotel was very quiet and easy to access. The dining room and bar were really nice. The staff was absolutely wonderful, especially the young lady that worked during the days that we stayed.

This is not only my favourite hotel in Dublin - it's probably one of my favourites in the world! It is literally an old schoolhouse and offers a homely, comfortable and friendly welcome in it's Irish themed rooms. The food is sublime as well - whether you choose to eat in the restaurant, in the bar or in your room. Right next to the canal, it's a 20 minute walk into the centre of the city. Highly recommended.
