Reviewed 25 March 2014

Had three nights here with National Holidays for St Patricks celebrations, our room was 3142 and it was immaculate nice king sized bed very clean but looking over car park and ventilation units, but no problem there. Made use of the swimming pool which is one of the best I've seen, surprised not more guests made use of it. Food was good especially the breakfast, but would have liked a change at dinner from mash every night. Every member of staff I spoke to were very pleasant and keen to help. Would stay here again at any time.

I've never reviewed a hotel in my life but just back from a weekend in the Regency and wanted to give my thanks to all the staff in particular Cristina, Dominic and John. I was staying there as I had a work do on the Friday night in the City Centre and meeting family from Santry on the Saturday, I live in South County Dublin so its a bit of a trek getting home and I was previously recommended this hotel. Check in was fine, took about two mins no wait room was really nice, clean and spacious. Bit baffled about the mixed reviews on the rooms but I know renovations are taking place and this is made pretty clear on check-in and notices in the hotel but double check if you need to be 100% sure on your room. Had breakfast both mornings lovely big fry up staff very attentive, had dinner both nights again gorgeous food my compliments to the chef, I also ate food
for lunch in the pub again food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Visited the leisure center Sat and Sun beautiful pool, sauna, sauna etc. definately worth a visit if you have time. Bus route to
the city center is excellent and even better that is just outside the hotel, taxi home was about €12.
All in all had a wonderful stay but personally for me for me its the staff that make a hotel great and they did all they could to make me feel welcome and comfortable and nothing was a big issue and to a woman traveling on her own makes all the difference to your stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be a repeat customer.

We booked here for an overnight stay before an early morning flight from Dublin airport. We got it really cheap through ebookers and we weren't expecting much but what a pleasant surprise! Our room was wonderful, modern, spacious, lovely bed linen sparkling bathroom and everything very clean. As there was a wedding on in the hotel we asked for a quiet room away from any possible noise and were given a top floor room and it was absolutely silent all night and we got a great night sleep. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We went into Dublin for a meal on the bus just 10 min away cost 1.20 ( have the right change ).Bus stop is on road outside hotel. Next morning we got a taxi to airport as the hotel doesn't have a shuttle 15 min ,18 Euro. Even with this the hotel is much cheaper and nicer than hotels with shuttles. Didn't have time unfortunately to sample breakfast or the leisure centre but we intend to return.

Room Tip: Ask for top floor

Absolutely terrible stay. Room and maid service satisfactory but downhill from there. No friendly greeting on arrival - just handed the room key - end of. Seating arrangements in the dining room meant that not all tables were accessible from behind by waiters but their way of getting round that was by leaning over other diners or handing the plates to the diners being served. Dinner orders were taken in blocks of tables so each table was not served at the same time but by their course choice. No butter knives were provided. Knife used for starter course was not replaced for main course. No serving spoons were provided with the communal vegetable dish. During dinner, no waiter asked if we needed anything else or if the meal was ok. No brown sugar or cream for coffee. Cups and saucers not set out but piled up on the table. Waiter did not lift cup by handle, poured coffee and set cup down on table - not saucer. Tables cleared before last diner had finished. Food was plentiful but lacking in quality and presentation. Reception and waiting staff need retrained, supervised and mentored. At breakfast, no trays were available to carry more than one plate. Plates were cold or wet. Scrambled egg was brought out in a bucket and poured into the dish on the server and the sausages were replenished in a similar manner. Could this not have been done in the kitchen? This is not fine dining expectations but just basic restaurant detail. Finally,it is the job of management to ensure that reviews like mine are not posted on the internet. I will not recommend or stay in this hotel.

The hotel is about a 10 minute bus ride from the City centre and roughly 15 mins by taxi from airport.
Not sure what standard rooms are like as we went for an upgrade as it was only 20 euros a night.
Staff very helpful, hotel itself fairly average, that said it was clean and well cared for.
Breakfast was lovely every day and well worth the cost.
We went for a rugby weekend so it suited us to the ground. Not sure if we'd be as gracious for other events/holidays.
But over riding thoughts are......good clean room, very very nice staff and excellent breakfast. (Avoid the fried bar food, it is exactly what it says it is)

Room Tip: Check if up grades are available. Seemed reasonable at 20 euros a night for room not pp

We stayed here twice during our trip to Ireland. Let me preface by saying 1) the hotel looks like a dump from the outside and 2) it's an "airport" hotel, but it doesn't have a shuttle. It's about 20 euro for a cab, or 3 euro to take the bus- depending on which one you take it's a 10-20 minute ride. That said, the interior of the hotel looks great. The staff is phenomenal. If you buy the breakfast buffet, it's delicious.

The first night they let us check in early (we traveled to the Cliffs of Moher and Killarney the next couple days). That first time we stayed in an aging, un-renovated room on the fourth floor. However, having used Orbitz and only payed $50 a night we were expecting as much. The beds and pillows were hard and the TV was tiny, but the wifi worked, the doors locked and it had hot water so we were satisfied.

The second time we stayed, on our last night in Ireland, we were shocked when we stayed in a renovated room on the first floor. The beds were much more comfortable and the bathroom had been updated. The TV was a flat screen and not a tube (granted a small flat screen, but still an upgrade!) Overall a significant change from our first stay.

We paid the same for two nights but had two completely different experiences from one hotel. It seems as if they are upgrading so everyone has a consistent visit- but until then, ask for an updated room!

After reading some reviews of peoples bad experiences I must admit I was extremely worried about staying in this hotel but I was presently surprised. We arrived very early - approx. 8am and were told our room was ready and we could check in immediately, even though check in wasn't until 11am. The room was on the 3rd floor and was spacious, clean and had a great view from the window. Only problem we experienced was a leaking sink which wasn't a major issue. We were room only so cant comment on the breakfast, but the pub in the hotel sold food which was nice and reasonably priced - we opted for the carvery. Overall I would recommend this hotel as its close to the airport and the city centre with regular buses serving the area in both directions.
