“enjoyed our stay”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

We stayed here whilst attending a concert in Croke Park, the location was perfect with ample car parking facilities. Having read some of the reviews I was sceptical but our room was clean and spacious, the requested camp bed wasn't in the room when we arrived and the bathroom only had two hand towels but once we made staff aware of this both were brought straight away.
The pool area was lovely with large changing areas. We didn't eat in the hotel as we were out & about. The only real gripe I have is housekeeping, they knocked on the door at 8.40am wakening both children, checkout wasn't until 11 after this I put the do not disturb notice on the door and we had no further instances

Stayed in this hotel while attending a concert in croke park. Location of the hotel is very good, however the rooms are VERY dated. When I arrived my room stank of smoke and there was some cigarette ash on the windowsill. The shower head was broken and fell against the wall so was unusable.
Public areas are better (pool and spa area are very clean)
Food was good and staff did their best on what was a busy weekend but hotel rooms really need a makeover.

I stayed with my friend for one direction concert last Sunday night. To start we had to sit for half hour to wait for room, which delayed ours plans firstly. We rushed to have showers to discover ONE towel in bathroom, no phone In room to ring reception so we had to ring from mobile to be told half hour wait for another towel. Housekeeping staff were rude and unhelpful. We ordered one meal to share as finger food at the bar which was cold chicken goujons presented in a bowl with only half cooked chips.also cold. When we returned from the concert we took advantage of the "one direction" late menu and ordered pizza. We were presented with again, cold pizza that resembled ones I buy myself in aldi..but not for €10...also there was one shower cap in our bathroom which when we opened the box to use it was soaking wet obviously already used..overall a horrible experience and will not be staying here again

The location is okay, between the airport and the center of town, very easy to find. When we arrived the place had a bustling, lively feel as the patrons in the restaurant located in the foyer were enthralled with the football match. The staff were efficient and helpful. When we needed water and ice we were provided with ample amounts. I would bring to one's attention that upon stepping off the small elevator the worn state of the hallway carpet gave a feeling that the place was a little run down but we were happy when we stepped into the room as it was quite spacious. It was interesting that in a double room we had two different sized beds, one single and one double. I was very keen on using the pool and was disappointed when I learned it closed at 8pm in the evening. We decided to use it before checking out the next morning and found it unique that you had to exit the front entrance of the hotel and walk a few minutes outside to enter the pool area at which point you were told a mandatory bathing cap must be worn and given a large. luxurious pool towel. The pool area had a few circular hot tubs that were actually hot as well as the water you can sit under and give yourself a massage. It was just what we needed to start our day. Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Regency.

We were suppose to be able to check in at 2.00pm didn't get key until 3.30pm receptionest wasnt very friendly at us even asking for it.Childern looking forward to using leisure facilites but we didnt have time as we were gng to concert. In the bathroom shower curtain was stinking. The next morning cleaners walked straight into room at 10.00 am overall we were not very impressed. Also the took two deposits when we first booked they said we done it ourselves online we booked over the phone. They would not return deposit.

Arrived at the hotel, ready for the One Direction weekend, hotel was well prepared with One direction food menu which went down well with the younger guests. Rooms were good and we had a great view and able to see Croke Park! Food in the restaurant was really good, all went down well, mine are fussy eaters so that was a plus. Staff were excellent. So pleasant, polite and helpful, I had read some negative reviews but on first hand experience I will definitely be back. Used the pool, Saturday morning pool towels available after 10am and think pool opens at 8 so maybe take some from the room. Only thing I noticed was the showers at the pool were too hot for kids to use as there was no mixer taps so maybe wash and do hair in the rooms, take your swim caps and told after I went back to the room to leave valuables as there were no lockers that I needed a deposit for the towels, I was about to give up at that stage until the another employee said I could use my room card for the deposit, more helpful thank God. Really enjoyed the weekend and finished it with a trip to Dublin Zoo which was fantastic!!

Room Tip: Rooms nearer lift , 3106, good view of Croke Park .
