We stayed at the Dergvale for one night our our way through Dublin. We found the location to be fairly convenient and the staff to be both friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the top (I believe fourth) floor so it was quite a hike with our bags, definitely not recommended for mobility issues.

The room was exactly as displayed online, and was very clean. The beds were comfortable and it was really more than enough for the money we paid. Unfortunately the wifi wouldn't work in our rooms so we needed to go sit in the lobby, but it was for one night so it wasn't a big deal. They lock the front door at night but they let you in quickly when you arrive.

We ended up missing breakfast so I can't comment on that.

Overall, I thought we got our money's worth out of the hotel and enjoyed our stay. It definitely isn't a modern hotel, but I appreciated the character of the facility.

We stayed there for eight days to explore Dublin and Ireland. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. Though the bathroom was very small and the furniture is a bid old-fashioned, we really liked the room. Breakfast was great and rich, though it could need some healthy options after a few days ;) Within 10 minutes walk you can reach Henry Street for shopping and another 5-10 minutes Temple Bar for night life. We would definitely come back.

Stayed at the Dergvale 22nd to 25th May 2014. It is an unassuming hotel from the outside but step inside to the large reception area and be greeted to a warm welcome. Our room (no 1- Triple room) was clean, bright and quiet even though we were at the front looking over the road. A large pot of of tea was available when we asked and served with a selection of biscuits - it was no trouble to the owners. Breakfast was big enough to fill us until lunchtime easily. There is also a bar in the hotel but we did not avail of this.We were walking distance to the centre so near enouogh to enjoy the atmosphere and the sights but just far enough away to not have the noise from constant traffic. For proximity to the city and it's sights but to also enjoy the solitude after a day trekking around Dublin, this is the place to stay. We will be back!

Room Tip: We were in a triple room (no 1. at the front and no issues with noise)

Dergvale is a city centred hotel, close to shops, pubs, Trinity College and Temple Bar. It is an old building, but it is kept in a very good condition. It is extremely clean and reception is always helpful. Furniture is a little bit old but match the decoration of the hotel. Breakfast is good and is served every day, no buffet, you just order whatever you like from the menu. There is always a radio station playing in the breakfast room with news and chat programmes, thing which is a little boring and sometimes annoying....The only problem is with soundproofing in the rooms, as you can hear everything next door...

Room Tip: You can ask for rooms facing the street to have a view

Stayed here while on a 3 days visit to Dublin. Our room (No4) was clean and very comfortable with a good shower. All the staff where friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was good and kept us going well into the day. Although it doesn't look much from the outside it is great place to stay if you want to explore Dublin. Five minutes out of the door and you are on O'Connell Street in the centre of the city. If you want a clean, comfortable good value, no frills hotel look no further. My only gripe is there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room ,so bring your travel kettle.

Room Tip: Our room (No4) was at the back and was very quiet. Hence good night sleep!

Lovely little hotel in need of renovation, but perfectly acceptable for the cost and star rating. Very helpful staff always on hand to give advise and answer queries. A late breakfast was offered, which was greatly appreciated. Some

Dublin locals questioned the safety of the area where the hotel is located, however we had no problems at all and always felt safe.

Room Tip: The rooms get a bit chilly in February when the heating isn't on during the day, and in the midd...
