We stayed here for just one night but we found the owners and staff extremely kind and very helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the room was adequate for the price. The rooms were a little old fashioned but thats what gave it it's charm! Breakfast was also very nice too. Would stay again definitely.

Stayed here for 2 nights in June. We were put in room 10 which was on the top floor (6 flights of stairs). The room was good, clean, tidy and a big comfortable bed. The bathroom was small, dark and the shower was very snug indeed.

On both mornings we were woken up by a terrible noise which I can only assume was coming from water tanks in the loft above the room. Kind of like a loud grinding vibrating noise. It went on and off every few minutes.

Then breakfast, what a shambles this is. On our first morning we webt for breakfast only to be told the dining room was full so to take a seat in the lounge. 6 other couples were already in there and after a 20 minute wait only 1 had gone through we decided to go elsewhere and pay despite paying for it there! The second morning we went down first thing and only just got in and it wasn't much to write home about anyway.

All in all it's cheap, clean and a decent base but I wouldn't stay again.

We spent 2 night in the hotel. Nice and friendly place, a full irish breakfast is a real highlight - home made and really tasty. Don't expect 5 stars accomodation but for a great price you get all you need - extremly clean room and bathroom, lobby with TV and Internet.

We stayed for three nights in June. The room was nice, small but not too small. Despite its appearance, the shower was hot and powerful. There's no elevator, fortunately we stayed on the first floor so we only had to carry our luggage one flight of stairs. There's no Wi-Fi in the rooms.

Our main problems with the hotel were that the curtains are very thin and hardly blocked any sunlight (which is unfortunately common in a lot of B&Bs we were in), the walls are very thin and the floor creaks with every step anyone takes inside or outside the room... this made us wake up very early every morning. Would definitely avoid if you're a light sleeper, unless you're ok with waking up early or sleeping with earplugs & a blindfold.

Location: Very close to several bus stops, including to/from the airport. 10 minutes walk to O'Connell St. and 15 minutes to city center. Decent for the price we payed.

Breakfast was standard: Cereal/porridge, eggs (with bacon and sausage), toast with butter & jam, coffee/tea and orange juice. No buffet, but more than enough food.

We stayed at the Dergvale for one night our our way through Dublin. We found the location to be fairly convenient and the staff to be both friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the top (I believe fourth) floor so it was quite a hike with our bags, definitely not recommended for mobility issues.

The room was exactly as displayed online, and was very clean. The beds were comfortable and it was really more than enough for the money we paid. Unfortunately the wifi wouldn't work in our rooms so we needed to go sit in the lobby, but it was for one night so it wasn't a big deal. They lock the front door at night but they let you in quickly when you arrive.

We ended up missing breakfast so I can't comment on that.

Overall, I thought we got our money's worth out of the hotel and enjoyed our stay. It definitely isn't a modern hotel, but I appreciated the character of the facility.

We stayed there for eight days to explore Dublin and Ireland. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. Though the bathroom was very small and the furniture is a bid old-fashioned, we really liked the room. Breakfast was great and rich, though it could need some healthy options after a few days ;) Within 10 minutes walk you can reach Henry Street for shopping and another 5-10 minutes Temple Bar for night life. We would definitely come back.
