Booked this hotel as it was close to the Bord Gais theatre for Wicked which i attended with my friend and hubbies. On arrival looked nice, when my husband checked in he told the receptionist we had our car, not friendly at all, charged us 10euro but said nothing of where to park the car in the underground carpark. When he went down for my jacket the car was clamped and he had to pay 125 euros to get it off. Absolutely disgraceful, put a real dampner on our evening. Hotel reception were unfriendly and unhelpful, saying nothing they could do, firstly they said 80 euro then charged 125?????? something not right with this. Definitely would NOT reccommend this hotel.......

Dear t0r0nt0girl09,

Thank you for your recent review of The Pearse Hotel. All guests are given a car park permit prior to accessing the car park. On this permit are the details of were to park in the car park as it is a private car park that doesn't belong to the Hotel.

Clearly on this permit it is marked that you must park on a space with a white spot, this is also signposted throughout the car park and in the lift lobby which must be used to enter the Hotel from the car park.

Parking in a non-designated Hotel space will result in clamping by a private company which have nothing to do with the Hotel. All payments are made to this company and not to the Hotel which we are not affiliated with and have no control over.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards
Trevor Smith

I stayed at the Pearse Hotel twice before and each time had a great experience. It is ideally located, has private parking and child friendly for a city break. This time unfortunately my experience was disappointing. Stayed there to attend Wicked in the Bord Gais Theatre, which is just a few minutes walk away and decided to eat in the bar. As I have eaten there before I was sure the meal would be again beautiful and good value. Unfortunately from the menu they had no pasta in the kitchen to cook or couldn't offer us any vegetables (not even a potato) as they had none either. Can't say much more as this was only at 5.00pm. Think I need to find a new city centre hotel!

Stayed overnight with our two kids in order to be near Bord Gais Theatre. Everything was fine for the low price we paid. Would have preferred twin beds for the kids rather than a double and couldn't turn down the heating at night. Very convenient to the theatre. Used taxis for city centre as public transport options weren't obvious.

myself my teenage daughter and her friend stayed one night here to see diversity in the o2. diversity was great. the hotel was ok. I did find the staff unfriendly, the room was ok, we all found it strange that there were bars on the window. we had food in the bar the night we arrived, which was cold and not that good for the price. we asked for an extra pillow, and it was like we were asking for gold. the breakfast was the best of the experience. the staff definitely need to take a course in hospitality and communication skills

I stayed with three friends over New Years Eve, so I assume the rates were a bit higher than average, but the room was so not worth even half what we paid.

There were weird stains on the floor, the shower was clogged and didn't drain, we each had one hard/flat pillow, we had one towel in the room when we checked in (and had to go down to get more because they wouldn't deliver to the room), and the front desk staff was consistently unfriendly and not very helpful.

Plus my credit card was charged twice, so now I have to battle to get my money back.

The location isn't terrible, about a 15 minute walk from the main attractions and Temple Bar area, but I would think twice about staying here unless you're getting a screaming deal.

Me and my friends booked a room for the 4 of us to be together and I was apprehensive about it but there was no need to be. The room was more than adequately sized for us girls.
The beds were comfortable. The room was warm and clean. The staff were helpful when we required anything.
Breakfast lovely and servicing staff were helpful.
I`m sure we will be staying here again on future trips to Dublin

I stayed recently at the Pearse Hotel, went to see a show at Bord Gais Theatre and had the dinner package. My daughter and i enjoyed our stay and the deal we got was very good value. The staff were very nice especially the girl working in the bar/restaurant, who was very friendly and gave good service. The breakfast was nice but the tea was cold as it was self service and in flasks, and a better variety of fruit and yogurt would have been better, but overall a enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: rooms at the back of the hotel are better, less noise unless you get some people coming in late and...
