Hotel is a former Holiday Inn and you can see why this location was dropped long ago. The entire building is old and in need of care. From the flies in the lobby to the humid, hot rooms leaving you sticky (Windows only open 2 inches and there is not way to cool the room.) The place was visually clean but in need of an entire remodel. 1990's TV, creaky floors and beds and showers which jumped between ice cold and burning hot, regardless of where the knob was placed. Staff was less than courteous and for something as common as wi-fi there was a charge in excess of 20 euro per device, not per room.

Room Tip: Even taxi drivers (on three occasions) noted how terrible of a hotel it was. Surrounding area leaves...

First of all, unless you google-map this hotel and look at the scale, the map the hotel's website shows makes it look very close to town. It is not. Depending on how fast you walk, it can be 20 mins-30 mins (for a family with small kids) to just get to Trinity College. If you come from the airport, you had better take a cab because the Air Coach and Air Link only go to Trinity College (closest drop-off point). We took Air Coach and eventually after walking 3 blocks, we hailed a cab.

The rooms are clean and adequate, but you have to go downstairs and get cups and glasses for yourself if you want more than 2 in a Quad room. Likewise, the reception is quite dismissive and surly at times and not that helpful.

Rooms at the back are extremely quiet, which is the one big plus for this hotel. However, students and families with young kids stay here, and I can't say that about the quiet emanating from the corridors.

The hotel was $176/per night for four of us, and I felt that for that amount of $, the service should have been better. This was w/o breakfast also. The bar was not appealing so we did not try it, and the restaurant was only open on weekdays, so you have to hoof it into town for a decent meal, and that is probably going to take 30 mins at the least, for most restaurants are beyond Trinity College.

Additionally, you have to pay about $30/24 hrs for internet. Totally unacceptable. I would not stay here again.

This is the perfect hotel to stay in if you are catching a show in the Bord Gais Theatre. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the theatre. The hotel is old, but is nicely decorated. Rooms are big and clean. The staff were great. We couldn't find the underground car park (which is €10 overnight) and one of the guys on reception actually hopped in the car with us to show us the location and he carried both of our bags up to reception.
We did want to eat in the restaurant, but the menu was limited. The room was so hot (we stayed in July) even with the windows open over night - but most Irish hotels do not have air con so I can't fault it for that. Good value for money for the location.

+ The location is good, very close to Trinity College and Temple Bar, in Center. The staff was friendly and helpful enough. 24 hour reception. there was TV, iron, clothes dryer, table, some seats in the room. The room was spacious enough. Free tea/coffee facilities in the room, tea bags, milk and instant coffee provided every day. 5 towels provided and changed daily. The bed was comfortable enough and was made every day.

- No breakfast and no internet included and the price for double room was 122 eur/day. despite Dublin being an expensive city, these rooms are definitely overpriced. Internet could be bought separately at the reception and was very expensive (ca 8 eur per hour).
The furniture, TV, curtains and bathroom were old, there was a strange smell in the room, like in the cellar. The room was overlooking the road, the windows were thin therefore sleeping without the earplugs was rather impossible. The bathroom had very old dirty curtains and the bathtub was not very clean. In the room all the furniture looked very old and not clean (spots of tea/coffee on the chairs, scratched lamps and table, spots on the walls).

I did not like the hotel too much and find that for that price the quality of stay in *** hotel could be better (would expect to pay no more than 60-80 eur for that room and service). There are cheaper options in the same area with internet and breakfast included.

Room Tip: If you are lucky to get a room overlooking the inner yard and not the busy road, your room may be qu...

We booked on hotwire so we weren't able to see all the details before we booked, we got a great price but the internet charges were cruel. It was also a little bit of a hike from the Temple bar area where we spent the most time. It was fine for me but the older members of our party were not thrilled. The staff was nice enough.

4 of us stayed at this hotel in two double rooms (2 couples)
*The staff are very helpful and friendly.
*The breakfast is a help yourself buffet style with lots of choice which we all very much enjoyed. *The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre (Temple Bar) which is not a bad walk as there are a few pubs along the way!
*The hotel room was very clean and spacious although a little hot.
*We flew from England so did not experience parking.
*Taxis are often about outside the hotel which you can just jump in.
*Would stay here again.

We stayed here before as it's good value and convenient for city centre and events at the O2 and Grand Canal theatre. I had forgotten why we liked this 3star hotel in need of redecoration - lovely helpful staff and a good on site carpark. We arrived before 9 am as we had an early appointment. We would have been happy to park and leave our stuff but our room was ready and we were checked in there and then. The breakfast was fine also. A coat of paint would spruce things up.
