“Very noisy and overcharged”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014

Very noisy: The room I had basically had the elevator shaft running through it. Every squeak, groan and rattle was clearly heard throughout the night.

I was also overcharged for breakfast.
I pre-booked on Booking.com and paid for 2 breakfast , and upon checking out they insisted I pay again!

Room Tip: Stay away, or make sure you ask for a good room. check your charge when you leave.

Dear Sir,

Thank you once again for booking with The George Frederic Handel Hotel and thank you also for your review.
We appreciate and encourage all feedback from our guests as your perspective is essential to achieving and maintaining the best possible standards.

I would like to apologise for all the inconveniences caused during your stay. There was an error made in the Reservations Department and the Breakfast wasn't inserted with your booking, there was a refund issued today on the same card for the extra breakfast charge.
Regarding the noise in the room, I am sorry for that, we do have quieter rooms away from the elevator as well and we are more than happy to accommodate our guests and change the rooms on request.
Again I apologise for all the troubles and I hope that you will choose to stay with us again in the future and help us improve the experience through your very honest and constructive comments.

Thank you again and if i can be of any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Alex Hurduc

Excellent value, would stay again, found the rooms clean and well equipped and the staff friendly and helpful. Could have been nearer the city centre but within easy walking distance of templebar and Grafton street areas

We stayed here because our usual hotel was sold out, and it was OK. Value for money was good, room was very generously sized for Dublin and comfortable. The main reasons for a so-so review were the breakfast, location and service. This is in Temple Bar but on the far edge near Christ Church Cathedral. This makes for a long walk to the sights around Trinity University, St. Stephen's Square and the center of town near the post office. Public transportation connections are not the best, either. The breakfast buffet was not up to the standards we've seen at other Dublin hotels - a lot of pre-packaged breads. The full breakfast was better but I don't always have time for that as a business traveler. Service seemed indifferent compared to other places in Dublin.

Staff very friendly, location is good: handy for the main tourist area without being too noisy. On the down side some of the furniture is a bit on the tired side and there are no safes in the room. The breakfast was fine but nothing to write home about

We had a great stay here, we had one of the twin rooms in the hotel, and while this hotel is quite small and the bar was closed up ( the reception staff can still serve you drinks from it, or open it up if you like) .It was very central and very reasonable price wise, what makes the hotel though are the staff ,they are all so friendly and helpful. Will definitely book into this place again !!

We loved the location as it was perfect to just step out onto the Temple bar, in the heart of Dublin, within easy walking distance of the shops, sights, restaurants and the night club. We also liked having the triple room with its daily treats of biscuits, wine, free water, snacks etc However the most amazed we were with the staff, especially with Sylvie, very friendly, helpful,& courteous with great personality. She was so ,yes' girl, before we asked she offered , advised and even serve us Guinness! Incredible!
The breakfasts, although quite basic, were also good and convenient.Thank you from 3 ladies from Paris,we will be back soon!C' est génial !
