“Best hotel we've ever stayed in - exceptional staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2011

We've lived in Dublin for nearly a decade, and only recently moved to the West. Booked a one night stay at this hotel having stayed here for one night a couple of years ago. It was as good (if not better) than our first stay. The receptionist was a lovely woman - the very same one from our stay in 2009 ( a great sign!) - her name begins with G. The quirky decor was something we actually really liked. A room at the back of the hotel was ideally suited as we are both very light sleepers. No complaints there - spotless room, most comfortable bed ever, and really excellent decor. As it turned out, I was involved in an accident after checking out the next day. Despite the fact that we returned to the hotel at close to 3 a.m., the night porter (a lovely Englishman) had a room waiting for us, and was extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was facing a main road (though it was twice the size of the room we had stayed in the night before), so we asked to move rooms. Bearing in mind it was 4 a.m!! Still, no problem. We were moved to a room similar to the one we stayed in on the first night. Slept incredibly well despite the ordeal, and the lovely receptionist even let us have a late checkout of 2 p.m. given what we had been through. Warm, pleasant staff with genuine interest in the well being of their guests, plus a really comfortable hotel in a great location. Cannot wait to return!

Nothing was too much trouble at this friendly hotel. The rooms are lovely with a sophisticated boutique feel. We travelled in a fairly large party, which can be difficult to cater for, however this proved little problem for the kitchens of the Hampton. Our steaks were beautifully tender, no mean feat when catering for a large group. However it was the service and general attitude of the staff in this hotel which lifts it into the exemplary category, nothing was too much trouble - even at 3am in the morning!!

If you get a chance stay here, you certainly won't regret it!!!

Room Tip: It has it's own nightclub - Vanilla

Had the absolute pleasure of booking and staying in The Hampton Hotel for my 40th Birthday party. Could not have booked a better venue for style, great staff and food, not too mention the very trendy Vanilla nightclub and private suites . The service, professionalism and friendliness of staff is not often found and perhaps that's the beauty and secret to boutique hotels, but one that is at the heart of the Hampton Hotel :)

The staff was amazing. I've travelled a lot for work and they were right up there with the Four Seasons. The room was modern, tidy and very comfortable. The gas fireplace was a nice touch and the heated bathroom floor was a luxury coming in from the cold outside. The location was a very easy walk to Stephen's Green and the City Center.

There is a nightclub that is part of the hotel, you can't sleep until the music stops at 4am!

I'm from Dublin so to stay in Dublin is a rare treat me and my boyfriend just wanted to be alone for a night but not go 2 far. We stayed in room 202 (select room) was fairly big but looked a lot bigger on the website but still a really good size compared to other hotels at the same price and the bathroom was really big with 2 sinks and what I really loved was the deep bath as a love baths. The bed was two single pushed together (had read this before so wasn't surprised) but it wasn't uncomfortable to lie in the middle. I don't think you'd really notice it unless you felt with your hand. I'd also heard before in other reviews that on the weekend’s music could be heard up until 3 in the morning. I stayed on a Saturday night and it went on until around 1 and was fairly load as I was over the bistro but it wasn't something I found annoying as the telly pretty much blurred it out and that wasn't to high up. The breakfast wasn't really the nicest I had and I didn't really eat much (but this has also got to do with the fact I ordered a sub from room service in the middle of the night which was fab). Over all I enjoyed staying in the hotel and would go back if it was a little cheaper as I don't think it was worth 134 Euros plus breakfast maybe 100 euro. Oh and the staff were so nice realy want to mention them.

Stay at the hotel - it has an original look, rooms are spacious, well-appointed if slightly musty, but avoid breakfast at all costs. There is no buffet - just three overpriced options from a menu served by staff who appear stressed out even though only three or four tables are occupied and they seem to leave all cleaning and clearing up to the end. Staff are friendly and the rooms are good value, but grab a sandwich at the Spar up the road instead.
