My partner and I arranged our Civil Partnership Ceremony and Reception at the Hampton Hotel on 2nd of June 2011. Having invited over 90 people, looked at several other venues and dealt with quite a number of other hotel personnel before booking the Hampton, the minute we walked into the hotel, we knew we had found the perfect place.

The Menu : They have extensive options to suit any budget. If you are considering the Hampton for a wedding or similar event, use the menu options as a guideline as they are more than happy to put together a menu to suit you. We met the Head Chef, Sean, who is a Michelin star chef, and he could not have been more accommodating. We had a menu tasting a couple of weeks before the event and the Chef's main concern was that WE were happy with the menu and the way in which he prepared the food. He even changed the way he cooked a particular item on the menu to suit us which not many chefs would be prepared to do.

The Hotel : The Hotel is a 24 room boutique hotel with a superior feel to it without the air of formality which some luxury hotels have. The room we had our ceremony in was perfect - we filled it to capacity but it didn't feel cramped. The diningroom for our reception was big and fitted the 10 tables with ample room then for dancing later in the evening. The bar has a modern and very classy feel to it. Outside there is a marquee style seating area and, as we were extremely lucky to have a lovely sunny day for our wedding, we had our Prosecco and strawberries reception outside. After dinner, those who were not too interested in the music, adjourned outside again where the seating area was surrounded by fairy lights which was beautiful. The bedrooms were huge - modern, airy and our guests were given a reduced overnight rate for being part of the wedding party.

I have genuinely never experienced the level of customer service which we were afforded at the Hampton. Throughout the arranging of the whole event, they were profession, extremely flexible and accommodating, and friendly. It was a case of whatever we wanted, we could have and not with an air of trying to rip us off - far from it. We never encountered a single problem during the course of arranging the event, nor with the quality of service and quality of food etc on the day. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for such an event. Our guests enjoyed it so much that a group went back to the hotel the following evening for the hotel's Friday Night BBQ, which we will definitely be giving a go during the summer.

Our sincere thanks to Paul, Christina, Chef Sean and Gudrun who collectively made our "Special Day" exactly what it was, special.

Catered to our every request, even upgrading the room for a special fee. Rooms were well equipped and of significant size. Great location besides - right in the heart of D4 and an easy trip into the centre.

The hotel was ok, but we wouldn't have wanted to stay more than one night.
The reception was great and since we had prebooked, all was already printed out - we only had to sign. There was a nice lounge next to the reception area where we had a drink with a very funky design.
The room (and the hallway leading up to it) were dark and although only 2 years old already showing some wear and tear. The room was cold and smelly when we got in and with the dust it felt like it hadn't been used for a while. The bathroom could have been cleaner and there were some stains on the carpet that made us miss the slippers. Good thing our room was at the end of the hallway since you could hear every whisper from people outside.
Breakfast felt a bit expensive for the limited amount of food on the plates (no breakfast buffet). It's a bit far to walk into the city center and taxis were surprisingly expensive (10 Euro to get from the hotel to St. Stephen's Green).
Since the prebooked rate was quite reasonable we rate this hotel average.

We've lived in Dublin for nearly a decade, and only recently moved to the West. Booked a one night stay at this hotel having stayed here for one night a couple of years ago. It was as good (if not better) than our first stay. The receptionist was a lovely woman - the very same one from our stay in 2009 ( a great sign!) - her name begins with G. The quirky decor was something we actually really liked. A room at the back of the hotel was ideally suited as we are both very light sleepers. No complaints there - spotless room, most comfortable bed ever, and really excellent decor. As it turned out, I was involved in an accident after checking out the next day. Despite the fact that we returned to the hotel at close to 3 a.m., the night porter (a lovely Englishman) had a room waiting for us, and was extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was facing a main road (though it was twice the size of the room we had stayed in the night before), so we asked to move rooms. Bearing in mind it was 4 a.m!! Still, no problem. We were moved to a room similar to the one we stayed in on the first night. Slept incredibly well despite the ordeal, and the lovely receptionist even let us have a late checkout of 2 p.m. given what we had been through. Warm, pleasant staff with genuine interest in the well being of their guests, plus a really comfortable hotel in a great location. Cannot wait to return!

Nothing was too much trouble at this friendly hotel. The rooms are lovely with a sophisticated boutique feel. We travelled in a fairly large party, which can be difficult to cater for, however this proved little problem for the kitchens of the Hampton. Our steaks were beautifully tender, no mean feat when catering for a large group. However it was the service and general attitude of the staff in this hotel which lifts it into the exemplary category, nothing was too much trouble - even at 3am in the morning!!

If you get a chance stay here, you certainly won't regret it!!!

Room Tip: It has it's own nightclub - Vanilla
