Stayed at the Hampton Hotel on a Saturday night while going to a concert in the city centre. As a night in nice hotel was part of a birthday present for my boyfriend, I was pretty confident that the Hampton Hotel wouldnt disappoint, and it didnt.
Ok, so the car park isnt great. Its at the back of the hotel but we didnt mind that at all. I didnt chose the hotel based on a fancy car park!!! The check in was wonderful, the lady at reception was so nice, and made sure that we had all the info we needed for where we were going, what to do etc. As we were only there for a night for a concert we didnt need all the info, but the couple checking in before us were clearly on holidays and the receptionist was brilliant, she should work for Irish Tourism!!
The room was fantastic, the fire on the wall, huge comfy bed, very quirky decor, i absolutely loved it. the bathroom was one of the nicest bathrooms i've ever had in a hotel, the bath was huge, and an excellent power shower too! The bed was super comfy, and there was a massive flat screen tv. With the curtains pulled, the fire on and lying back watching tv, we almost forgot that we were heading out!!
Before leaving, we grabbed food in the bar, lovely food, excellent staff. Bus stop right outside the door to bring you into the city centre in 10 minutes. We got back to the hotel that night just after 12, had a drink in the bar, which was nicely busy. I know there is a night club as part of the hotel, but to be honest, i didnt even know until we were checking out. The clientele at the bar were not the night clubbing type, and there was no signs of crowds, no music to be heard. Maybe we were just lucky with the room we got though!
The only thing i didnt like in my whole experience was the room service breakfast the next morning. We had checked if breakfast was available by room service and order two full irish's, but when the waiter delivered them to the room, he demanded we pay for them right there. I asked could me not pay when checking out, apparently not. It wasnt a huge deal but it just caught me off gaurd as i've never had an experience like that before!!
But overall, a lovely hotel, really enjoyed my stay except for the breakfast incident!!
