We arrived with my wife on crutches from a broken toe the previous day and got very good service from Gertude and then Lisabeth to locate a hospital after calling the local doctor. They were extremely helpful throughout finding and booking tours and events, evening bringing up the hotel menu and helping us find a hotel for the third night since they were booked!

Perhaps most impressive about our stay was our second night when we wanted to take our kids to a pub for some traditional music and dancing. The manager (Bruno) offered that we could follow him to go to a traditional Irish show that allowed kids past 8pm. While the food was forgettable, the music and dancing were both top rate and highly recommended - The Merry Ploughboy Irish Music Pub (putting review there next)!

Our room was slightly larger than most since we'd originally booked for only 2 adults so we upgraded to a suite which was fantastic in every way. The bathroom was magnificent and modern as was the room in a chic black and white theme.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant where the food was excellent though the service depended upon your server (our waitress was very slow but helped by competent waiter). For breakfast, we walked up the street to high end supermarket for bagels and chocolate croissants in the room which were delicious.

Pros:

This is a boutique hotel, so the rooms were quite modern and well-maintained. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. Another nice feature is that there was a restaurant/bar in the lobby that had indoor and outdoor seating.

Cons:

Our room was tiny! Each room is different so maybe you can ask for a bigger room, but my friend had a bigger room, but her bathroom was tiny. The elevator was also tiny. We had to make 2 or 3 trips just to get our luggage up. Also keep in mind that the location of this hotel is in the suburbs - it is NOT within walking distance of the city.

pro's: nice layout (more ikea like though) - the fireplace in the room was a nice touch; very nice staff (many thanks to Gudrun);
con's: when checked in - we were given somebody else's room and charged in advance in full + deposit (instead of pre-authorization, therefore we lost money due to f/x rate) ; poor selection of breakfast (and depends also who is serving it); lack of umbrella (in a very rainy Dublin) and also slippers despite asking many times for (something we receive even in not boutique hotels); distance from downtown (in w/e the busses don't come that often); very thin walls;
Overall expensive for what you get!

After a very long direct flight from Australia we arrived at the Hampton and were immediately impressed by the friendly service of the staff and the fact they realised we were totally exhausted and would catch up the day after. The hotel might be a little bit out of the city, but in return you either get some exercise in a lovely part of Dublin or you pay a little for a bus to St Stephens Green which isn't that far. For those looking to get their washing done there is a laundrette if you head left out of the hotel and several hundred metres towards the city.

If you are looking for shops you head right once to exit from the front. There is one of the best little gourmet supermarkets I have ever seen there (fancy cheeses, meats and wines), along with some other services that is more than adequate. The other side feels more deserted but you are really not that far from anything if you put some effort in.

You can tell a good area from the people walking with you into the city, driving out of sidestreets and generally pick up the vibe from your surrounds. This area feels like the leafy North Shore of Sydney or any other fine suburbs in Australia. It is such a relaxing place, that it differs considerably from the hustle and bustle of Temple Bar!

The foyers are dark but this shouldn't be a major issue but I guess that is matter of taste. If you know where your room is no problem, but perhaps they might like to consider some more lighting. The rooms have great TV's, comfortable beds, heated bathroom tiles, however there are no fridges so you will have to either stock up at room temperature or head out. We became used to the no fridge idea and had no problems with it. The room certainly had a great feel and we did spend more time in it (due to some terrible jet lag) and another major plus was air conditioning which made it even more comfortable. We had a front facing room so there was some traffic noise but nothing terribly excessive.

We ordered the breakfast option on the internet and were told we could have whatever we wanted. The full irish option was superb and the staff got to know us and vice-versa. Due to our jet lag we were awake hours prior to breakfast and were normally alone in the room. Certainly quiet but it was very relaxing.

We saw the sign "Vanilla nightclub" coming soon, and this could be a bonus for some, especially if the noise levels are well contained. The bar and outdoor area was well patronised in the afternoons and nights and it had a good "vibe" about it.

The hotel is very close to an Aircoach stop to Dublin aiport and this is highly recommended for 9 euros. Once you escape the city proper it doesn't take long at all. We enjoyed the walks towards St Stephens Green, and it made you appreciate the city even more.

Great city, fantastic people and a lovely hotel to cap off the experience.

This Hotel calls itself a Boutique hotel, but having stayed in Boutique Hotels before this is certainly not one. The hotel has been painted up to make it look better but it has all been done on the cheap. We stayed in the suite overlooking the car park . The windows do not open so very stuffy and hot had to put the aircon on to cool down a bit. The corridors to the rooms are so dark that you really need a torch to find your way to the rooms. The same for the bar and restaurant you can not see what you eat. We had breakfast one morning in the hotel and it was not worth the money so we had B/F in M&S the following morning which was great. THEY ARE OPENING A NIGHTCLUB IN THE HOTEL SO BEWARE AS THIS WILL MAKE THE PLACE VERY NOISY.
The staff have been fantastic though really helpful and nice but it is not worth the money and it is too far out from the town centre.

Stayed here for two nights last week. It has got to be the best hotel in Dublin. Nice, modern rooms with huge marble bath and air conditioning. The reception staff are the most helpful people we have ever met -- especially Gudrun, she is a total star! She found us a self-service laundry within easy walking distance, which had the bonuses of being in a cute little neighborhood with grocery story, pharmacy, and coffee shops. It is a bit of a hike from the hotel into the city, but we walked it happily. If you don't care to walk, several city buses run right in front of the hotel,as does the Air Coach, which is the cheapest and easiest way to get from the airport into Dublin.

We recently stayed at the Hampton hotel for a week with a group of family and friends for our wedding, and were amazed by every aspect of the hotel. The service was beyond compare, with Christiane, Godrun, Bruno and Michael going above and beyond to guide us around the city, book tours, give directions, and provide every kind of assistance we needed.
The bar and restaurant staff, Sean, Eoin, Kreshna, John, Robin and Marius were equally helpful in accomodating us for all our meals, and the food was absolutely wonderful.
The hotel is an easy 15 minute walk to down town and right on major bus and airport shuttle routes.
The rooms are spectacular with every attention paid to detail, a modern feel with many luxuries.
Our weddign reception was also held at the hotel and the room was spectacular, the staff went above and beyond to help us plan the night for over a year, and carried out every aspect to perfection leaving us with no worries and a spectacular night.

Whether it was day or night, everyone went out of their way to help us and the other hotel guests. We will be returning to this hotel the next time we are in Dublin and cannot recommend the hotel and its staff highly enough. This was the best hotel experience we have ever had!
