We had a work event in the Aviva and decided to stay here, lovely hotel. It's not modern more like a poshB&B. But the p,ace had a lovely charm to it. My room was lovely, very quaint. The staff were very friendly. We got in from the gig at 12 and the staff served us till the early hours... I missed breakfast due to the late night. Others in my group though said the breakfast was lovely. Staff could not do enough for us.. I will stay here again as I loved it so much. Also it's a lovely stroll into the city and the room prices are very good...

Room Tip: It's an old house so do not expect modern, but it has charm and history. Especially rugby histor...

This is a lovely hotel, owned by a couple who have set out to make it feel homely and relaxed and succeeded completely. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The TV is small but good enough for a bit of watching if you want that. The staff are all helpful and friendly. There is parking space in front for a dozen cars. The breakfasts are to die for, and your hostess, the lovely Anne Marie, makes sure you have an enjoyable time, catering to your every need and (in my experience) remembering all your quirks of taste. There is a nice little bar downstairs, where you can get a good evening meal with your drinks, and a bit of traditional music on Thursday evenings, and if you happen to be there for one of the days of clear warm weather you can sit outside, away from the noise of traffic, though you are only 20 minutes from St. Stephen's Green. Great for business visitors and tourists. Thoroughly recommended.

Stayed here for two nights (Friday & Saturday14th & 15th June) for a concert at the RDS Stadium, which was just a short walk away so very handy. Really good location-just a short walk to the Lansdowne Dart Station and a few good bars and restaurants. Really reasonably priced hotel, with lively bars and good pub food. Breakfast wasn't included, which was a surprise but not a problem. Our room (63) was spacious, clean and comfortable, with an adequate bathroom and brilliant shower (worth a mention because it matters). Bed was comfy-pillows a bit thin but there are spares, so again, no problem. The guy on reception couldn't be more helpful and friendly, letting us check out a bit later than scheduled, and sorting a taxi back to the airport for us. I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to family and friends.

We are delighted you enjoyed the Lansdowne Hotel and your night out at the RDS, as you say the RDS is a short comfortable walk from the Lansdowne Hotel, most major attractions in Dublin are not more than a few minutes’ walk or taxi ride. We are delighted that you enjoyed our Den Bar and other facilities. We look forward to your next stay. Above all else we are committed to providing comfortable, affordable living for our guests.

This hotel surprised me because so many of my recent hotel experiences have been fairly 'meh'. But I was fortunate to get a good rate on this room (€65) and the establishment is just a little outside the city centre so it's well away from the evening madness that seems to grip certain parts of Dublin city centre at night (mainly a result of too much drinking). The room itself was big(!), clean and with a massive double bed which was pretty comfy. The bathroom too was big with a good shower and my room was a quiet one, facing away from the main road.
Breakfast wasn't included but you can buy a continental breakfast for €6.50 and pay more if you want a 'proper' cooked breakfast.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there is free internet access at reception if you need to go online but haven't brought your laptop.
The Lansdowne Hotel is roughly 15 minutes walk from St. Stephen's Green - add another 7 or 8 to get to Trinity College. There are buses on that route from the centre and the Airbus can drop you within 10 minutes' walk of the hotel too.
I'd definitely go back (if I can get a similar bargain price).

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from the main road - I can recommend room 23!

Booked here last minute while on business in Dublin because of price and it was walking distance to the city centre. Room was expected for the price; a little dated but it was perfectly clean, had good bed, and a really nice shower.

Staff are this hotels best asset, especially the lady on breakfast - she was lovely. Plus the breakfast was good. Also, the bar man the night I was there was very friendly and accommodating.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of June 2013 and would be happy to recommend to others. Nice location in Ballsbridge area of town, perfect for where we needed to be. Got the room for a great price on Booking.com and room was fine, not the biggest hotel room ever but it was perfectly clean and ideal for what we needed. The majority of staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful with the exception of the night guy who checked us in on arrival, not the friendliest welcome ever and he didn't tell us anything about breakfast but it didn't spoil our experience and we wouldn't hesitate in going back again.

This looks & feels like the main hotel of any small Irish town, although it's in Dublin 4.
An old building, staff keen to please, a personal welcome from the barman, Friday Fiver lunch deal, evening specials for ten euro, they know their market of the value traveller.
Rooms just big enough, comfortable, reasonable breakfast for the traditional meat-eater.
Lots of rugby memorabilia. Free wifi.
